This area along the banks of the Charles where the river broadens into the basin is one of the nicest spots in town for a walk, run, or ride when the weather is pleasant. The flowering trees along the water definitely make it worth a visit in early May. See more..

I love walking around Fresh Pond- Even in the winter months with the trees bare and the ground frozen. It feels like you are miles away from the city. People walk their dogs here all the time- good thing I like dogs. Many let their dogs run free. I've only an an issue once where a dog was pretty aggressive- the owner finally got a clue and put him on leash. Definitely worth the walk.See more..
