Loved everything about Amed
I have been to a lot of beach towns in my travels and I have to say, Amed is absolutely one of my favourites! The beach itself is volcanic black sand so if you are looking for the fine powder you won't find it here. The beach is very clean and water warm. What you will find here is an incredible town full of amazing people. The vibe is very relaxed. You can sit and watch the seaside life of the Balinese in action. The main road is filled with amazing little warungs which are incredibly well priced. We didn't find this town overly touristy and it is NOTHING like the craziness of south Bali. We absolutely loved our stay in Amed. Our only regret is that we discovered it at the end of our three month trip to Bali so only stayed 5 nights. We will definitely be back for an extended stay.

Peaceful beach area
Amed beach is located on the eastern side of Bali island. It will take around 3 hours from the Bali airport. I've been to many beach towns in my travels and I need to say, Amed is absolutely one of my favorites! The beach itself is volcanic with dark sand. The main attraction of Amed beach lies in the natural underwater spectacle with fantastic coral reefs and exquisite fish. Therefore, it makes Amed Beach Karangasem a famous place for freediving, snorkeling, and scuba diving in Bali; so, if you love underwater adventure, Amed Karangasem is one area to visit in Bali. Besides a long stretch of black sand beach, there is also a village nearby the beach called Amed. Amed village is a small fishing village on the northeast side of Bali Island, which located close by Tulamben Karangasem. Where can I snorkel in Amed? Below are the best snorkeling spots along the Amed coast. Kembali Beach Bungalows coastline. Teluk Jemeluk. Lipah beach. Selang beach. Over all, Amed beach and the area is a lovely place to visit, to do snorkling, diving or just driving around. Please keep clean the beach and put your trash in the right place. Enjoy!

Perfect snorkeling spot
Amed has the best, undisturbed coral reefs, in Bali. The water is shallow & warm...careful not to harm the coral. Amed is a remote area but, the locals are kind & the coral is breathtaking.
