From Chamonix (1035m), fly over the forest to reach le Plan de l’Aiguille in 10 minutes (2317m). On your right, the Glacier des Bossons, in front of you the Mont-Blanc (4810m), on your left the Aiguille Verte, the Drus and the Aiguilles de Chamonix. Then take a second cable car which, in just 10 minutes takes you up to 3777m, over the seracs, the glacier des Pelerins and the hanging glaciers on the north face of the Aiguille du Midi. . From the top, a sightseeing panorama unique in the world. Experience a very high altitude.

Phenomenal
We visited Aiguille du Midi on Christmas Day and it was an exceptional experience. My family truly enjoyed the views of the mountains and taking a picture in the clear box. The gondola ride going up was a little nerve racking for me (I’m terrified of heights) but I forced myself to observe all the beauty of the mountains while going all the way to the top. The price per person is quite expensive but well worth it. Also, it seemed to be a very busy time, so I would suggest booking tickets in advance via the website or you may arrive and the gondola ride may be booked for the day (that is what happened so a lot of people when we collected our pre-booked tickets). One of the most amazing places we visited in the area and a must see!

Fantastic! A must when in Chamonix
We purchased our tickets the same day for a few hours later due to the number of people interested in taking the cable car. We opted for the Aiguille Midi option which was two cable cars, one right after the other. The cars can hold about 60 people and move quickly up the mountain. The views are spectacular from the cable cars but from the top, they are astounding. There are multiple places and levels to view the splendor of the mountains, the glacier, and the valley. We didn't hike, rock climb or ice climb and truly enjoyed the experience. Once you are at the top, you are given a number for the return car. It's about 90 minutes after you arrive which seems like a long time but with the multiple viewing places and the way the clouds can change what you see, there's a lot to see. We didn't dine in the cafeteria or the restaurant. We got a few souvenirs in the gift shop at the top but there is a bigger, nicer one at the bottom when you are back on the valley floor. This was definitely a highlight of our trip.
