Great place to go on a pilgrimage

I visit the Shrine few times during the year to attend the healing mass. I always spend no less than two to three hours between the service, walking around the beautiful grounds, checking the store, and praying and lighting a candle at the Chapel of Light. It is an important and meaningful pilgrimage for me, that brings me peace, joy, and healing from the life struggles. The place is beautiful, and it's surrounded by woods, so it's a restorative trip as you reconnect with God, our Spiritual Mother Mary, and nature. They hold the beautiful Festival of Lights every Christmas season. It's wonderful to walk around seeing the Christmas lights while having a cup of hot chocolate. I highly recommend visiting this place, and don't miss it on Christmas time.

Great place to bundle up and make some life-lasting memories...
I and my family lived 10-12 miles from "LaSalette" and as a child, this was "real" Christmas. My mom would bundles us up, if we were lucky it would be snowing, and head up to the Shrine, mostly at night. If you want a memorable and truly traditional way to feel the spirit, this is one of the best ways to do it. There was never any admission charge, just beautiful art through sculpture and display. I was a child of 8 or 9 and I am a child of 61 now, that's how much of an imprint and memory of Christmas it made upon me. Do go, dress for the season, it is a lifetime memory waiting to be made. The last time I visited was December of 1974.

A visit with the spirit of the season that has no admission fee
This place is a re creation of what the season is about. It has an indoor and an outdoor portion. The indoor contains a chapel, gift shop, cafeteria and prayer room . In addition, there is a candle room for lighting a candle you can purchase or bring. The outdoors is a gorgeous lit display depicting the events surrounding Christmas as contained in the bible. There is also a fun portion for children....I recommend warm clothes and warm boots! (gloves as well); One should drive over at daylight and wait untill 5pm, when the lights come on. If you go over during the dark, you will sit in traffic for miles.
