4.5Dutton Island Preserve(53 reviews) - Great Place for Kayaking Islands • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks
This park is a little known gem. It has a few trails and picnic spots and there is a huge board walk that stretches over the marsh and there are a number of places to fish. It even has a public restroom and plenty of parking. But what I found most interesting on the water. We had a great experience here kayaking with the Northeast Florida Sierra Club. There is a good area to put your kayak into the water and the kayak trail is pretty well marked. It is subject to the flow of the tides, so its important to check the tide tables before you go. We saw a lot of wildlife and there was an area where you could pull your kayak out of the water and take a break.See more..
5.0Tide Views Preserve(10 reviews) - Wow. How did I miss this place? Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks
Easy to get to, but not a high-traffic area. No cost. Great fishing, bird-watching, walking with friends, seeing the tides, experiencing the sunset, observing 100's of tiny crabs, and more. Simply serene.See more..
4.5Howell Park(4 reviews) - Small Park with Lots of Turtles Spent 1-2 hours Parks
Locating the park was easy enough but trying to figure out where the entrance was not because there were no signs to the parking lot! But eventually I did figure it out and was able to enjoy myself eventually. It is a small and peaceful park with a small stream filled with turtles sunbathing during sunny days. It has a couple of benches and a sanded trail that winds around the park. There are lots of trees which should provide a shade during the long and hot summer months.See more..
