Great Helicopter Tour
We took the “Bucket List “ tour in June 2022. We’ve flown over and landed on other glaciers in recent years, but this trip over and onto the Matanuska glacier demonstrated just how unique this glacier is. The highlight was landing and disembarking along the edge of a small lake that exists atop the glacier on top of 400 feet of ice. Mark, our pilot and owner of Sheep Mountain Lodge, gave us a great ride, provided expert commentary, and was focused on ensuring we had a great time.

Best helicopter tour!
I've tried a few glacier helicopter tours, and this is my favorite. I've taken my family and friends here several times in the last two years. They provide excellent customer service! Whenever I visit, I am always made to feel welcome. Mark, our pilot, is an incredible person. He is enthusiastic about his work. I hope to return sometime in the future. The glacier is two hours away from my house, but the drive there is always breathtaking, and the glacier itself is breathtaking. You should go check it out! In the winter I would recommend explore glacier canyons and ice cave! We had a great experience there!

Night-Cap on the Ice-Cap!
EPIC EXPERIENCE!!! A thrilling one-hour helicopter adventure out of Sheep Mountain Lodge! The pie was hot and the ice cream and drinks were cold, as the stunning blue pools and epic 360-surroundings mesmerized us atop Matanuska Glacier. Mark, our pilot, Sheep Mountain Air and Sheep Mountain Lodge owner, was beyond exceptional and accommodated our every desire! Mark knows the area well and flew over a black bear eating berries and two huge bull moose! With crampons on we trekked higher above the pools before our return flight as the sun set on a phenomenal evening. Thank you Mark for creating an experience of a lifetime. Cheers! Connie & Greg
