   This is a great hike and very rewarding. We left the kids in the accommodation as we considered the hike a bit much for them. We were right it was a bit too much for children. When we got up to west camp I was really ready for a beer but to my surprise there is no bar or KFC in fact nothing. The guide cooked us a few noodles with a bit of tuna and that had to do. The lava lakes were amazing, when I saw them I wished we had made the kids do the hike they would have just loved throwing some rocks into the lava lakes. A great couple of days but don't expect any chips and ice cream as its a bit remote. See more..

   I have travelled to Iceland, Seychelles, Svalbard, Namibia, French Polynesia, Alaska, Italy, Indonesia, Lord Howe Island, Fiji and Vanuatu but Ambrym is the most special island I have ever seen in my entire life. I REALLY recommend to go to the Marum Volcano with Philimon Paul from the village of Endu. The walk is hard and he did not get lost at all and the safety was just so good.And the volcano is so eerie and ominous and the coastal areas belong to one of the most pure forms of paradise i have seen. I dont write tripadvisorreviews a lot, but i only do it for this. GO!!!!!!!!!!!!! See more..
