   Lifetime Memories Made Our cruise included 2 grandparents. 2 parents, an 11 year old boy and an 8 year old girl. We touted this 2 hour cruise of creeks and the Rappahannock as a birthday cruise for our 8 year old granddaughter. Captain Phil was perfect for the task of creating a lifetime memory for all of us. The highlight was when Captain Phil put the birthday girl at the helm. He taught her how to navigate, with such care and excellent instruction. On our cruise on his well cared for pontoon, we saw lots of waterfowl, a bald eagle and wonderful sites. Thank you Phil Loftis. We feel blessed to have been under your care!!    This is in a Scottish Factor Store circa 1766, a large brick warehouse, was once the meeting place of tobacco growers and merchants trading goods, and is on a sunken road leading to the sea where tobacco, the money of the time, was loaded onto ships bound for England. Some nice historical objects but the greatest thing is the house itself and its location, plus the 1755 Mitchell Map, which was used to negotiate the treaties that ended the Revolutionary War, define eastern states boundaries as recently as the 20th century and was consulted in the 1980s to settle an international dispute.    We stopped on by during a heritage tour of the Hewick Plantation and we thought we’d reward the kids on a hot day. This place was open and ready for us. We all got cones and sundae’s and the creamery was very tasty. The attendants were extremely helpful and patient as we took our time to order! Great place! See more..
