Cement Ridge Lookout is an adventure! Trekking from Spearfish Canyon past Roughlock Falls on 222 a gravel road that takes your Spearfish Canyon experience to the next level. The road is pretty rough and there were times an ATV would have been more appropriate, but the fern meadows and birch/aspen forests cheer you on to the alpine flower meadows and stunning view at the top. Warren Peak Lookout Tower image
Even though the top of the tower was closed to visitors (fires in area? COVID?) the views from the ground & the intermediate platforms on the stairs were incredible. Supposedly one can see Devil's Tower from here, but we couldn't find it, probably because of the hazy/smoky conditions. There are 2 picnic tables & a vault toilet for visitors who want to spend a bit more time here. Easy access via paved roads. Highly recommend. See more..
