   We were driving to and from Colorado and found this statue listed at roadsideamerica.com. When we take road trips roadsideamerica is a good companion to tripadvisor because it has some quirky places that might not be on tripadvisor. This statue is the story of lost dreams redeemed. It looks a little like an alien or, as described on roadsideamerica, a steampunk monkey. The execution is superb. There's lots interesting detail all around it, including a reference to a passage from Job specific to dreams. It's a bit off the beaten path (actually it's a ways off the interstate) but surely worth a visit. Look for the playground in the park behind (or is it in front of) the school. It's not super large and isn't all that obvious from the street - you have to go into the parking lot to see it. Get out of the car, walk around it. It's way cool. See more..

   Great state park. Campsites are nicely spaced out but there aren't any trees so not much privacy. Very clean restrooms with pay showers. Well stocked convinence store is available nearby at the marina. Water was warm when we were there it was busy but not overly crowded. See more..
