- 5.0 Tailwinds Over Frederick (9 reviews)
-Thanks to Tailwinds for letting me take the photos of their prep before the flight...
Sightseeing Tours
I'm not a hired professional photographer for them. I am just a photographer hobbyist and absolutely love taking pictures. I happened to be their with my wife, enjoying a few brews at the Milkhouse brewery which is where they launched. I had my camera gear with me as I always have it with me anywhere I go during weekends. And so, I decided to take photos of the process and work to setup up their hot air balloon for flight. They were very friendly and helpful in letting me get closer to catch close up shots... Thank you Tailwinds! See more..

In 2007, our online store started with a great idea and a little hard work. In October 2014 we opened our storefront in historic New Market, Maryland. Today we're proud to provide quality products direct to your doorstep through an experience you'll enjoy. And most of all, we hope you'll enjoy the products as much as we do. If you find yourself in the area, stop in for a visit - 26 W Main Street New Market, MD 2177 See more..
- 5.0 New Market Historic District (1 review)
-Historic, well maintained Main Street
Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites
Many years ago, as a child living in Mt. Airy, we would drive through New Market on the way to Frederick. I remember my parents talking about antiques, but I should have paid more attention to the surroundings. Now, I appreciate the eighteenth and early nineteenth-century houses and buildings lining Main Street, or what is known as the historic national pike. There is plenty of streetside parking, so I stopped in several places to examine the stone and woodframe homes, churches, and businesses. These were nicely painted in a wide pallette of basic and pastel colors. While many of the historic buildings are private residences today, they often have signs outside to tell passersby what the original use was, e.g., a tavern. I realize it takes more than one day to do justice to a visit to New Market. See more..
- 4.5 The Original Playhouse Children's Museum (6 reviews)

- 4.5 Fleshman's Antiques (5 reviews)
-Maintaining a festive spirit in window displays
Spent < 1 hour Antique Shops
Although the holiday season is technically over, Fleshman’s Antiques is maintaining a festive spirit in window displays and wreaths. I wholeheartedly appreciate keeping seasonal joy alive throughout winter. Of particular interest was the middle window with an old Santa poster as backdrop and various carved animals/ toys on the shelves. Brass, copper, and china antiques graced the other windows. New Market has made good effort to provide good parking along Main Street. Within the store, a cheerful Christmas garden is surrounded by chests of drawers and other furniture. The building itself is a tasteful forest green with brown trim; a well maintained Victorian antique in its own right. See more..

This is a family owned farmette in historic New Market that has the prettiest flowers, plants, seasonal fruits and veggies of any place in the area. We come here summer 'round and into the fall for our mums. The food is always at its peak and delicious and reasonable. It inspires you to eat better and to try new things. - 4.5 Smith Tavern Antiques (3 reviews)
-Interesting selection, good prices
Spent 1-2 hours Antique Shops
Smith Tavern is owned by a couple who really enjoy what they do and are happy to share what they know. They are helpful and never make customers feel pressured or rushed. When they offer to look for something for you, you can be assured they will stay with what you want and the price range you suggest. I have been more than satisfied with every purchase. See more..
- 4.0 RP Brady (2 reviews)
-Helpful
Spent 1-2 hours Antique Shops
This shop is one of the smaller in New Market and it is filled with furniture. There were some lovely pieces, but as I didn't need any furniture it was a bit of a waste for me. The gentleman working there was very helpful though and he recommended a couple of places that would have smaller antiques more to my liking. See more..
- 4.0 Robert Esterly Antiques (1 review)
-Restoration
Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops • Antique Shops
After having gone into several shops full of antique furniture, I initial bypassed this shop because the sign said Cabinet maker, antique furniture and restoration. However while I was in Happily which is just a couple houses down the lady there told me that Robert was a whiz with fixing damaged antiques. She called him up and he came over and we had a nice chat about a damaged truck I had and a rough estimate of getting it fixed (if I can get it to New Market). Glad I asked... See more..
- 4.0 1812 House (1 review)
-Mainly Furniture
Spent 2-3 hours Antique Shops
This is another antique shop that specializes in furniture and the place is jam packed with it. So much so that it is hard to move around. They did have a few wall cases with china and other smaller items. The lady there asked what I was looking for and directed me to a case in the corner by the window. Here I found a lovely leather box that I quickly bought as it will be a perfect gift. See more..
- 4.0 Tulip Tree Fiber Arts & Antiques (1 review)
-Tiny
Spent 1-2 hours Antique Shops
This store is on the ground floor of a very small house. The room is very full and can barely hold more than a couple of people. The owner was sitting on the narrow stairs to the second floor to be out of the way. Most of the items are smaller kitchen wares and reminded me of things I once saw in my grandmother's house. It was a nice shop, but it doesn't take long to see what there is there. See more..

- 3.0 Yesterday’s Treasures & Custom Framing (1 review)
-Closed for the Winter
Spent 1-2 hours Antique Shops
The lady in 1812 Antiques advised me to not even try to visit Yesterday;s Treasures as the owner was away and the shop closed for the winter. A bit disappointing as the city is known for its quaint antique shops. It is similar to the rest of the shops though and is located in a old house where the ground floor is turned into a shop.
