    MISCellaneous Distillery image
We visited miscellaneous distillery after finding by mistake while driving through Mount Airy Maryland. This place was well worth the pit stop. I’m a beer guy but they have have some really good distilled products. The owners wife was tending the bar today’s and she was fun to talk with. If you do stop by make sure when you see the sign on Main Street don’t park, drive around back where there is more parking and no steps. See more..

We LOVE this Town! We moved to Mt. Airy in April of 1994. What I love most is when my children’s friends come to SK Printing and say, “I know you, you’re Kush’s mom!”. In addition to our close ties to the local community, and the professional printing services we provide, we also offer unique gifts and collectables for all ages and occasions. In most cases, our customer’s come to our gift shop when they are in a hurry, knowing they will find something special, unique and perfect for that special occasion. We have lots of handmade gifts from local artists and other small businesses, made in USA and/or from fair trade organizations. We also have gifts for newborns, Birthdays, Weddings, Anniversaries, Friendship etc. Our goal is to bring the best items, that cannot be found in other stores, to our customers. 5. 5.0 Blossom and Basket Boutique (1 review)
    - Quaint shop
    Speciality & Gift Shops
Staff is friendly. The store has various knickknacks, including collectible items, flowers, chocolates, clothing, and so much more in such a tiny space. They are being safe and restricting number of customers inside as well as providing hand sanitizer during this pandemic. Well worth a quick visit off the beaten path if visiting Mt. Airy. See more..
  6. 5.0 Audrey Carroll Audubon Sanctuary (1 review)
    - A beautiful bird sanctuary and a wonderful surprise
Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Audrey Carroll Audubon Sanctuary image
This bird sanctuary is amazing. We visited on a foggy day in March, I'm not sure if it was even open, the gate was locked but you could just walk in. We were met by a variety of different birds and wildlife. This place is paradise for birders. They have pathes and clearings and a lookout platform. It seems to be well maintained and looked after. I recorded 3 new bird species in an hour. I would highly recommend this bird sanctuary if you enjoy nature and are in the area. See more..
  7. 4.5 Linganore Winecellars (165 reviews)
    - Fun winery with plenty of open seating and pizza options
    Sunday: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Wineries & Vineyards
    Linganore Winecellars image
My friends came here last minute on a busy Saturday afternoon. We arrived around 5 PM and the parking lot was almost full. Linganore has plenty of space to have a picnic, enjoy some wine, food trucks or just take in the great ambience. There is also a huge field up the hill that is great for photos and to catch the sun. The cheese, sangria and wines in general inside the main shop were delicious. The pizza at the food truck was delicious. Cant go wrong with their brick oven pepperoni or margarita pizzas. I love the spacing around the grass here. You have plenty of room between the chairs and tables. Even with a party of 20 we were close enough to rub elbows with anyone. The tables can easily be moved around and the space overall was very clean. Definitely one of my favorite new wineries in Maryland. I'd recommend going early and trying to find an area that has shade. See more..
  8. 4.5 Black Ankle Vineyards (109 reviews)
    - Great Staff!
    Sunday: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
    Black Ankle Vineyards image
Beautiful location with amazing staff members. I was visiting my family and we decided to come here on a Wednesday during covid times. They offer outdoor seating with blankets provided inside free of charge. They will also start a fire for you if its cold outside. Since its outdoor seating you can have large groups. They were out of their campaigns so they let me bring in my own since that's the only thing I drink. They offer a verity of snacks and drinks. You can also bring your dogs! Their staff members were so nice and outgoing. I highly recommend spending a few hours here. *Face masks are required inside when ordering or while using the restrooms. They also have a cute shop inside if you wanted to purchase a hoodie or a mug. See more..

My first trip with grandchildren was a recent birthday party (on a beautiful Saturday). The farm is so large, I don't understand how anyone could say it was too crowded. Everyone on the staff was friendly, helpful and interested in making our party a success. Prices were not high. Food was terrific (especially the doughnuts!). See more..

  14. 4.0 Hope Valley Golf Course (12 reviews)
    - Great course, challenging, not expensive
    Golf Courses
They are very friendly at Hope Valley, but the best part to me is that it is so beautiful, it's like playing golf in a fairy tale land. Rolling hills, winding paths, it's great. There are lots of challenging holes, though it's a short course. Some narrow fairways and lots of hills and water. See more..

They offer a nice range of wines at reasonable prices. They also carry cheese, chocolate and a few hand crafted items. There is a small sitting area in the back. My young children sat and enjoyed a snack during our tasting. See more..

  17. 4.0 Old National Pike Park (2 reviews)
    - Nice Local Park
    Sunday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Parks • Hiking Trails • Playgrounds
Located on Route 40 between New Market and Mt.Airy, Old National Pike Park turned out to be a pleasant surprise on a trip with our granddaughter. Driving up a hill to the park you get a nice view of the property and the many playgrounds and a well manicured baseball field. There are also 4 multipurpose fields, picnic tables, grills, shelters, volleyball nets, walking trails and clean restrooms/spot a pots. What a great asset to have in this rapidly growing area. 18. 3.5 Rattlewood Golf Course (12 reviews)
    - Good muni course, friendly staff
Sunday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Golf Courses
Played here many times. Yes 6 is a change but don't use a driver. 7 is the one that gives me trouble. I want to aim for the far right corner of the fairway but the ground is so hard if your a little to far right your ball can bounce like it hit cart path. I not thrilled about them deciding to put in Bermuda grass on 6 and 18. Definitely not a hard course but not easy either. See more..
  19. 3.5 The Links At Challedon (7 reviews)
    - A Good Experience
    Golf Courses
We had dinner here at the revamped grill associated with this fine golf course. My wife and I were quite happy with the food and the service. The menu and specials were more extensive than I had anticipated. I had the grilled NY Strip and my wife had the grilled mahi-mahi. The food was well-prepared and very good. The onion rings as a side dish were most excellent. The service was very good despite there being only a single server to take orders, serve food and take care of all the golfers coming in for post-round drinks and food. My only criticism would be that it might have been nice to have rolls or bread served with the dinner. We did not ask but nor was any offered. This is not a fancy place but the food was good and moderately priced. I would not hesitate to return. See more..
  20. 3.5 Pine Grove Cemetary (2 reviews)
    - Basic layout remains, but housing developments encroaching
    Spent < 1 hour Cemeteries • Churches & Cathedrals
    Pine Grove Cemetary image
Pine Grove was a great place to play hide and seek when we were kids. Sledding was another prime activity on what then seemed like a long drive that went on forever. Now on return visits to Mt. Airy one finds that the land acquired from farming pastures in the back is boxed in by housing developments. It is still a peaceful place. The historical value of the property makes a leisurely walk educational. While the correct address of Main Street is listed, the map puts the Cemetery out on old Route 40 past Ridgeville. I have asked that this be corrected. See more..
