4 Star Places To Visit in Lawton, Oklahoma, United States (15)
4.0The Holy City(315 reviews) - A must see location at the Refuge Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
This is a large area with lots of buildings and things to see. One should plan on at least an hour to get around and enjoy the buildings, the views, and more. We spent about three hours looking at everything and got some very nice pictures of Holy City and of the surrounding mountains. There were a lot of people at Holy City the day we were there and it was much appreciated that people followed social distancing and wearing masks. The gentleman in the gift shop (Paul maybe) was very informative with information to people asking questions. The gift shop is nice, but not a lot to choose from. There is a re-enactment of some sort on Easter morning and maybe someday we'll take the opportunity to see this. We hear there are many, many people who attend this so we'll see. Very enjoyable time!See more..
4.5Museum of the Great Plains(277 reviews) - Engaging Museum .... Well Worth the Visit Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Speciality Museums
Very investing museum established in 1960 that has evolved with time. The museum has several engaging hands-on exhibits. * Most innovative was a 3D sand table that dynamically sensed sand contours (i.e. sand above the table) and projected contour lines and color-coded "elevation" map on the sand. Innovative introduction / visualization appropriate for all ages. * Hands on exhibit of a mechanical wind mill (for example used to pump water from a well). * Hands on exhibit of a wind turbine for converting wind to electrical energy. Encourages experimentation with different blade shapes and number of blades to maximize energy conversion. Many other educational exhibits about the Great Plains (1) Geography (2) People and (3) History.See more..
To visit here, you need to first go to the Fort Sill visitor center with your ID to get a day pass. Apparently there’s a golf course and bowling alley because people were coming to play there. The museums are free, and there’s 2 museum areas. My kids loved seeing how there is an entire city inside those guarded walls. There’s a Pizza Hut, Burger King, basketball court, gas station, etc. Behind the buildings opposite the gift shop (which wasn’t open), there’s a nice playground. There’s a large lawn for playing/relaxing. We could have spent the entire day.See more..
This is a small museum so don't expect much, but what is offered is well worth the visit to the free museum. The gentleman who greeted us took our temperatures and told us some things of the Comanche Nation - from the past and from today. Very informative! Thank you! We went into the museum and were told not to take pictures of the artwork on the walls. So, we didn't take pictures inside. Being a small museum, we were in and out in about 20 minutes. And I just had to get two of the "coins" that were imprinted with Comanche Nation pictures. We went to the gift shop and spent that much time there looking around and purchasing some things. Everyone there was very nice and I'd recommend this museum to anyone. Just next door is the Museum of the Great Plains, so you can make a long afteroon visiting the two.See more..
4.0Apache Casino(90 reviews) - Now Non-Smoking-a Big Plus! Casinos
Had a great time at this casino this trip, paid for my trip with little bit of winnings over the evening. Excellent. Distancing is being practiced by every other machine operable or with plastic barriers between machines. And I love that is non-smoking!!! So much better than a cloud of smoke. Miss the drink area but it's easy enough to get one from the drink tenders. It was fun!See more..

4.5Geronimo's Grave(36 reviews) - Nice to see a part of history Cemeteries
We've visited the grave site of Geronimo many times over the past four decades. While the picture shows the figure on top, it is often missing. Even after replacing it with a new one, it disappears (souvenir?). Then there are the stories of whether Geromino is truely buried there or if his remains were dug up days after his burial and taken to his homeland of the Arizona mountains. Some say yes, some say no. Regardless, it's a stop not to pass by.See more..

4.0LOL Family Fun Center(19 reviews) - Wonderful experience! Game & Entertainment Centers
We stopped in with our recently graduated soldier and two other soldiers. Not sure if he was the owner or manager but he went out of his way to personally thank each of them for their service and spent time giving us recommendations on things to do in the area. Soldiers and their families get a free game of laser tag. Place was very clean and everyone was very friendly. We enjoyed ourselves so much we will be stopping back in again today! See more..
We lived in Lawton over 10 years ago, and were pleasantly surprised to see they still have the wonderful Christmas lights display set up at the park! We loved bringing our daughter here when she was younger, and were thinking of bringing our other two later on our trip. The play equipment appeared to be well taken care of, and the pond is usually full of geese which are fun to watch.See more..
