- 5.0 Case IH (3 reviews)
-Case IH Tour
Factory Tours
This was the highlight of our trip to Nebraska. The factory makes Case IH and New Holland combines, swathers, and grain carts from raw materials to the finished product. Our tour guide Dave is a 50 veteran with Case and was really informative. It was so refreshing to see the pride of good workmanship on each employees face. They all new each other by name and knew each other’s family’s. I felt like I stepped back in time and it seems Case is doing everything right with employees and the state of the art manufacturing. Also I’ve never been thru a cleaner factory before and it’s bright and cheery. It was really a treat to go thru the plant. Call Karen at the visitor center and book a tour and plan on 2 hours. - 5.0 Eagle Scout Park (1 review)
-Nice park for a walk
Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water • Parks
I chose Eagle Scout for my morning walk. It's about a 1.2 mile walk around the lake. There are many opportunities for bird watching while you walk or taking photographs. When I was out there the boat dock needed repair work and was not functional. See more..
- 4.5 Crane Trust Nature & Visitor Center (279 reviews)
-Fabulous Place - Please Support!
Monday: Spent 1-2 hours Visitor Centers
Crane Trust Nature & Visitor Center is the public face of the Platte River Whooping Crane Maintenance Trust. We are a nonprofit whose mission is to protect and maintain the physical, hydrological and biological integrity of the Big Bend area of the Platte River so that it continues to function as a life support system for whooping cranes, sandhill cranes and other migratory bird species. The Nature & Visitor Center has over 10 miles of walking trails, a 35-foot observation tower, a bison herd, art gallery, gift shop, and informational exhibits. We also offer tourism information for the state of Nebraska. During the spring crane migration, we offer viewing blind tours to see cranes up close on their river roosts and driving maps of the area so visitors can see the cranes while they are in the fields feeding. - 4.5 Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer (241 reviews)
-Nice museum,
Monday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM History Museums
When you visit Stuhr Museum, the word “experience” is one of the cornerstones of what we do. You don’t just see historic homes, you hear your footsteps on the floorboards. You don’t see a blacksmith’s impressive work, you feel the heat of the sparks. You don’t just see the Mercantile, you taste the candy stick, just as it was in the time of our pioneer ancestors. It’s what we call a “Living History Experience”. We feature over 200 acres, over 100 structures and are one of the most immersive and iconic museums in the Midwest. See more..

The kids had a blast. Everything was clean. The husband and I even enjoyed the lazy river several times. Had lockers with locks to keep your valuables safe. The staff was great even when dealing with an extremely large group (100's) of rowdy teenagers. See more..
- 4.5 Hornady Manufacturing Factory Tour (19 reviews)
-COOL
Factory Tours
My 10-year-old son LOVED this tour. The staff at Hornady is THE BEST. You can tell they all love their job, their bosses, their company. It's a short tour (less than an hour) with lots to see, including game mounted on the walls from all over the world. Some of the tour was hard to hear because of the crazy noisy machines and you are wearing ear plugs, but it was beyond cool. We got to see the bullet factory, shooting ranges where they test the bullets, and everything in between. If you love hunting, GO ON THIS FREE TOUR! See more..

Excellent day of racing at Fonner Park. Fonner draws an really good crowd for race day. Fonner runs a thoroughbred meet from the middle of February to the middle of May. Check their website for race days and promotions. This is a short 5/8th mile oval track so most races are sprint distances (6 furlongs). Very relaxed fun environment. We had a blast at Fonner Park! - 4.0 Raising Nebraska (10 reviews)
-Educational and free admittance
Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
In a large building near the state fairgrounds one will find Raising Nebraska, an educational experience regarding the products raised or processed in Nebraska. Even us 6 seniors in our party all agreed we learned something on several levels even though we all come from rural Texas towns. The interactive exhibits are terrific. I learned about all the byproducts of corn which was by itself amazing. Then came information through question and answer cards, videos, pictures, maps that light up, and touch screens about a variety of topics. School kids were visiting while we were there and they all seemed excited about the exhibits to find answers to questions given them. Enjoyed the time we spent here. See more..

- 3.5 Townsley-Murdock Immigrant Trail Site (7 reviews)
-No Highway Markers
Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Nature & Wildlife Areas
Our GPS went crazy trying to locate this site seeing adventure. We had to stop and ask locals to help find this place. The locals didn't even know but, did know the names of roads getting there. We went 3 more miles as a gas attendant suggested and we just happen to see the sign. After looking at tracks we drove down 500' to turned around to leave and then we seen another marker explaining everything-WOW! We would have missed this for sure so we spent another 20 mins reading and looking for tracks. All I can say is they need markers because it is a neat place indeed! See more..
