We took Jasper the Adventure Dog with us for a ride on the Bavarian Belle. This was a wonderful trip. Jasper enjoyed watching the ducks, the river, and the wildlife along the river bank. Evy sold us our tickets. She loved Jasper and went out of her way to help us, even selling us our tickets before she was fully set up. She was great. The Bavarian Belle is a dog friendly operation. We sat outside up front. The crew warned us before they sounded the whistle and we stepped inside for a minute and covered Jasper's ears. Pictures form this trip will end up on one of Jasper's children's books sometime in the near future. It was fun. See more..

No complaints. They have a specific protocol for every step and it makes things run smoothly. I'm very glad they respected those with medical conditions and allowed those who couldn't wear a mask room enough to social distance and still enjoy watching their family having fun and challenging themselves. They also provided clean adequate natural seating in the shade and a small picnic area. With all this sudden change in our lives it's nice to get away from some of it. My third trip to Frankenmuth was the first time I was aware that the town had a covered bridge, when I saw a picture of it in a souvenir shop. I asked where it was located and made a point of stopping to see it. I was slightly disappointed to discover that the bridge was built so recently, in 1979, because I was anticipating an antique bridge with a lot of history . . . possibly having serviced Frankenmuth's early settlers. Only eight more years until it does qualify as antique though. And the bridge makes a quaint addition to the town's Bavarian theme. The vehicle lane is very narrow, but two smaller cars can pass carefully. There's a parking lot (free parking) on a hill above the bridge on the east side of the river in case you want to stop to inspect the structure close-up. And there's a separate walking lane for pedestrians where you can stop and gawk at the river in both directions. See more..

A piece of Frankenmuth history, put this place on your must do list while in Frankenmuth. Right in the center of town. Even if you do not like cheese it is still a great place to visit. I did buy a small chunk of white cheddar cherry cheese that was so delicious. So many types of cheese, some more expensive than others. A great shop to spend some time in browsing around. We did the wine and chocolate tasting cruise during our cousin trip and it was amazing. Captain Jack and Maria were so much fun. The entire staff was really super friendly and it’s obviously that they love their jobs. Disappointed in the prices for a chicken dinner at Bravarian INN…..way to high for a chicken dinner! We ate at local restaurants and ate delicious excellent meals at Oscar and Joey’s roadhouse in nearby Birch Run and paid way under what you’d pay for one meal at The Inn….we bought 2 meals for almost the price of one there! Dead Creek Saloon in Frankenmuth also good for for reasonable prices. Frankenmuth Brewery was also a great place to eat and have a beer or two! Read online to go to the visitors center and get a coupon book before you start your shopping ~ eating experience in Frankenmuth, there are alot of coupons in the book but on alot of them you have to spend $50 plus to use them or get a free gift. The coupons are for shopping, eating and things to do. There is also a knome hunt you can participate in, you have to find 10 knomes around the shops write down their names and where you found take your paper back to visitors center and win a prize, some are super hard to find in the larger stores as some are big some are very small some are huge, but it was fun especially if you have kids they have fun finding them. The ladies in the center were very nice and the place is super clean, outside they have benches and tables you can sit and rest if you are tired from walking. As for the outside Farmers market, it's open Wednesdays and Saturdays in the summer and has many fruits, veggies, normal farm market items. The donuts from Butter crust bakery are fantastic! It annoys me that someone gave it two stars because they went in December and only the store was open. Ummm.... There's no outdoor farmers market in Michigan where you're going to pick up fresh corn in December! People are weird.
