Have a couple of drinks and something to eat with the good people of Douglas, at the recently restored Institution that is the College Inn Bar. Beautiful sites, area well maintained and enjoyed by all. People visiting area was so friendly and offered food that they had grilled. Amazed that they leave checker pieces and tic tac toe pieces at picnic tables for families to enjoy. Could have spent hours there if would have known ahead of time how relaxing it was there as well as all the areas of entertainment for children. Only recommendation is that the merri go round is replaced or removed as multiple children were spun off while riding. Also no cell service in area. ( could be a positive or negative) . See more..

The Depot is surrounded by eight rail cars including a day coach that dates back to the 1800s and a steam locomotive. Many of our rail cars are open to visitors, allowing guests to see the inside of the trains. During the Summer of 2018 the historic depot was updated to become a railroad museum. The exhibits include a growing collection of rail history and memorabilia. will be a wonderful experience. This small town, and I hope it stays small, is unique in the way that they put out a little calendar that sits in most public places that tells of the activities, and they are varied, of that month for all to share in..Douglas is a pretty town but as it grows, oil/gas comes in...that will be diminished...the people are friendly but not as they were say 15 years ago where smiles were there on most everyone.
