5.0Governor Richard J. Oglesby Mansion(7 reviews) - Beautiful Home to Visit Friday: Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Historic Walking Areas
If you are in town visiting the Staley Museum or downtown Decatur, don't miss this added stop. The Mansion is located a pleasant brick paved walk from the Staley Mansion and offers guided tours. The tour wasn't overly long and the docents were both very excited to be there and telling us it's history. The mansion boasts several important artifacts as the Governor was a legitimate friend to Abraham Lincoln and was even supposed to attend the theater with him on the fateful night of his assassination. They also have one of Santa Anna's legs, wow.See more..

5.0Golden Fox Brewing LLC(2 reviews) - Come around back! Friday: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Breweries
Golden Fox Brewing was created by two friends, Jim Fox and Kevin Ray, both of whom dabbled in homebrewing. Years ago, Kevin received a homebrewing kit for his birthday and was immediately hooked on the hobby. When Kevin started taking his homebrew to Indianapolis Colt's tailgates, he then discovered Jim also homebrewed. Through brewing for themselves and friends, they discovered that others loved the beers they crafted as much as they did. With people offering to buy their beer, the dream started to come alive—to brew beer on a professional level. The goal was to start out small, then grow steadily and ultimately retire from their full-time jobs. The opportunity arose to start and grow faster much sooner than expected. Now here we are, opening a taproom just three short years later!See more..
