    Points North Heli-Adventures image
Points North Heli Adventures is the only heli-skiing operation utilizing the southeastern side of the Chugach Mountains. Over the past decade, the Chugach Range has proven to be the premier destination worldwide for helicopter skiing and boarding. Accessed by ferry or plane, Cordova is unlike any other community in the state. Alaska Airlines flies into Cordova twice daily from Seattle and Anchorage. Upon arrival, a PNH team member will greet you and help with your luggage. A short, fifteen-minute drive to our facility offers many opportunities to see bald eagles, moose and the beautiful town of Cordova. Along the way you will also view the breathtaking Chugach Mountains that you will soon be skiing or riding. Our base location in Cordova is 40 miles from Valdez and allows us to provide you with a 'private' playground in our backyard. While the other 5 operations in Valdez share terrain, we are able to explore areas that the others cannot conveniently access. We continue to find new terrain each year catering from the intermediate level recreation skier to the world-class athlete. If you have heard of heli skiing in Alaska, and are already this deep in your research of operators, it is more than likely we have terrain to suit your desires. With over 2000 square ski-able miles available out the front door, there is more terrain than one could ski or ride in a lifetime! Our lodging is all-inclusive. Our facility is not a hotel or motel. It is a beautiful state of the art facility located directly on the waters edge. Our 3 helicopters are a few steps away from your room eliminating the drive to the heli port each day. Everything is located here on the property. All of our meals are guaranteed to make your mouth water and our local chef specializes in fine cuisine. Within the lodge we also offer wireless Internet access, just in case you are thinking of work while on vacation. When you visit us be assured your safety is paramount! All of our guides have extensive tra... See more..

    Cooper River Fleece image
Cooper River Fleece has some of the coolest fleece clothing. Designed in Alaska for Alaskans. It holds up well to continuous use, sheds water and wind to keep you warm. Best part is you can have it customized or tailored the way you want it. They have locally designed ribbons that can be sewn on while you wait. They have all sizes from infants to 3x. Lots of colors and patterns to choose from. I've been wearing their fleece jackets for years and love them. I purchases a new one on my recent visit. Customer service at the store was excellent. They completed alteration, added a hood and custom ribbon while I waited. Definitely recommend visiting if you're in Cordova or vist their web site. See more..

  5. 5.0 Kayak Island State Marine Park (1 review)
    - One of most dynamic spots on Pacific Rim
State Parks • Bodies of Water
Access is a challenge, but if you go you'll have 22 mile long island all to yourself. History, nature, wilderness, beyond category beach combing. It's hard to believe that brown bears can leave a permanent trail in 12-iinch beach cobbles, even when you see it. . Cape St. Elias and it's lighthouse are incomparable. See more..
  6. 5.0 Canoe Passage State Marine Park (1 review)
    - Sparkling Ocean Waters and Alaskan Marine Life
State Parks • Bodies of Water
You arrive by boat, a good day's trip from Cordova. The wild life and natural phenomena you can see on your way is numerous; sea mammals seals and sea lions, whales, pelagic birds of all sorts. A sunny day is a must, preferably while the fish are not running because the creek at the head of the bay is heavily populated with bears feeding on salmon. There are a few people nearby at homesites but no commerce, stores etc. or other amenities of civilization outside of Cordova, This is wilderness and the best Cordova has to offer in Alaska experience. Be sure to obey laws of pack in-pack out and good sportsmanship. This place has a lot of history and there are century-old reminders of long past human presence and experience; fox farms, fisheries and even indigenous fish camps so be respectful of this old time and ancient history. Leave things as they are. Enjoy the things that are there, plants and wildflowers but respect them so others can enjoy them too. See more..
