- A Lovely Gem Hidden Off the Beaten Path

On our way back to OKC from Broken Bow for the weekend we wanted something to break up the drive. We found Rocky Top Winery and set our GPS to lead us there. A bit off the beaten path, we found it and all of its charm! When you pull in there are three cabins that they rent out - proceed up the road just a bit and you will find the tasting room. Small and quaint, their wines are very good for Oklahoma. After tasting several, we each got a glass and sat out on the pond-side patio (there is a 2nd covered patio adjacent to the tasting room as well). The glasses of wine complimented the picnic we packed perfectly. We watched as cows roamed freely and birds flew around. Our 2 year old son had a blast running around and our dog enjoyed laying in the shade (she was not allowed in the tasting room - fyi). The owner, a retired nurse, was very friendly and helped make the experience that much more enjoyable. If you are passing by, or just like to get out and find a new thing to do in OK, Rocky Top Winery is a lovely gem hidden off the beaten path! Cheers! See more..
