   My husband and I stopped by the store in Albertville for some winter biking gloves. The cold weather surprised us while on vacation from the USA and we only had short-fingered gloves. In the bike department staff showed us what was available - all summer gloves. One man said the winter things were coming next week - be too late for us. When we explained that, he went to the storeroom and brought out what was left from last season. There were 2 perfect long-fingered, warm pairs for us and we wore them for 6 days in the Beaufortain and the Vercors. Our biking vacation was saved thanks to the extra effort of this staff member and we silently thanked him each day. See more..

   Shepherd's Cove supports Hospice by offering a vast variety of donated merchandise at very reasonable prices. When we visited, all books were reduced to 25 cents each; CD's are $1 each; clothes are very clean and freshly washed. Furniture and kitchenware were very reasonable, although selections can vary since nothing is kept on hand as stock items. Displays are neat and spacious with very good lighting. For treasure-hunting folks, Shepherd's Cove is a high end option to beat inflation and find unique assortments of things, including some legitimate antiques. See more..
