    - Hidden Gem That Won't Be Hidden For Long!
    Beaches
    Honeymoon Beach image
Took the ferry over to Water Island and spent a few hours at this gem of a beach while on a cruise stop in St Thomas. Soft sand, crystal clear and calm water. Snorkeling was decent as well. Saw a couple of sea turtles and fish. People said they saw a ray but I personally did not. The turtles in their natural environment were very cool to witness. There were a few people here and as the day went on, more came but it did not feel crowded at all for us. There is a beach bar called Dinghy's that you can get drinks/food from. I bought one Bushwacker and it seemed light on the alcohol for $12! We rented a golf cart from Rachael's Rentals as reading she was cheaper than Dingy's. There really is not much on the island to view except some pretty costal views. There is an old WW2 fort up high but we didn't even go up there because the road was so bad. Honeymoon Beach was much to our liking! See more..

This is the third time I have visited this synagogue and even so, I found the information gained extremely new and interesting. It is one of only 5 synagogues in the world with sand floor!! The others being in Amsterdam, Kingston Jamaica, Curaçao, and I believe Surinam. I learned that the chandeliers were a gift from a french family, irreplaceable baccarat crystal, and this has been in continuous service since the the late 1700’s.. The guide, whose name I unfortunately did not ask, is enormously informative, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Their gift shop has wonderful items which support their budget which comes entirely from donations!! See more..
