Sylvano and Melvin led a friendly, Informative tour through the rainforest high in the Pitons. They expertly and enthusiastically identified four endemic birds for our bird watching friend, served fresh fruit right from the trees and roasted delicious cashews for us. The views were extraordinary, the hike was moderate with gracious help though steeper climbs. This tour was a highlight that I would highly recommend to nature lovers especially bird watchers, families and anyone who appreciates seeing the natural world guided with real joy. We did have a driver, super Dave, much appreciated since the way in is challenging. I will happily do this again when I return to St Lucia! See more..

I called Mervin the Mountain Goat (758-384-7844) the afternoon before the morning of my hike and arranged to meet him at 0730 with $120. Going with Mervin made the experience awesome. Mervin truly is the GOAT. He made me feel confident going up and I never doubted we’d make it. I was an idiot and hiked on an empty stomach and didn't bring food, and he offered me pizza and bread. If you are a hiker, I wouldn't pay for a guide in the future, but having Mervin guide the 1st time was a solid choice. He took care of the $5 fee for me and I bought a slice of pizza from his girlfriend's shack for $3 afterwards. See more..

From booking via email (really courteous and efficient) right through the day itself, this was a superb experience. We agree 100% with what people have written about Ale - he seems a very nice guy and passionate about the island and his work. He took us all around with friendliness and care, and we wouldn't have found the AMAZING snorkelling beach he took us to without him. Even the locals didn't seem to know about it. I would echo that of others and say it is really hard! It is mainly scrambling up and down rocks. We went with Merv “the mountain goat” and would definitely recommend booking a good guide in advance otherwise you will be assigned a guide. Merv was excellent and let us go at our own pace for the tricky bit and could answer all our questions about the nature and the area. For this reason we give it five stars. You can contact him on WhatsApp at +1 (758) 384 7844 I would recommend good shoes/boots. Don’t bother with sun cream. I was a sweaty sun cream mess instantly and it’s mostly shady. It’s really all about what you are looking for. This isn’t about the wow factor even though I was floored by the natural beauty of this island, really it’s about the beauty of St. Lucia & the unique environment that you’ll find. This place is for those who want to take a beautiful walk through green tropical forest and enjoy Nature. My wife and I went here hoping to find some rest and relaxation after climbing the Gros Piton the day before and we were so fortunate that we had the top pool to ourselves for an extended period of time. Of course other couples came after about 30min which was nice. (Store your belongings in safe area somewhere you can see). Also the pools are man made but the heat and healing properties from the water are natural. Overall I give this place a 5 star. We enjoyed it and thought it was well worth the $7USD.
