  1. 5.0 Palau Escape (20 reviews)
    - Just what divers (and snorkellers) want!
    Sunday: 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM Scuba & Snorkelling
    Palau Escape image
Palau Escape is one of Palau's smaller diving and snorkelling operations, which is why we chose it, and we were very happy with our choice. Francis is a genuine Micronesian diving legend (as well as a member of the Scuba Diving Hall of Fame), Joe is an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and considerate guide and Joan runs everything behind the scenes perfectly. They make for an outstanding team and we had a terrific two weeks diving with them. They regularly managed to put us on world-class sites like Blue Corner and Turtle Cove at just the right time, in ideal conditions and when nobody else was around. That's just what divers want! We also joined a snorkelling tour they ran for a US group and were highly impressed again by the quality of the service, their attention to detail and how much the snorkellers loved their outing to Jellyfish Lake, Soft Coral Arch, a shallow shipwreck and couple of other sites - (outstanding value for a half-day tour, we thought!) 3. 4.5 Airai Bai (6 reviews)
    - A construction without nails and screws

    Airai Bai image
What amazing buildings those Bais are, constructed 200 years ago without nails, ropes or screws the wood just holds together like a jigsaw puzzle. The naive and pictogram art work is very remarkable, it repeats the main symboles of Palau like the bat, fish in all kinds, canoes, snakes, spiders, birds, rousters, the buns of hair piled on the heads, the tridacna shell, the money sign, and the god of construction ... - Beautiful & safe historical building

Upon entering the California state capitol there is ample security. Numerous security guards with x-ray machines and metal detectors. Felt very safe touring the building. There is ample street parking ,mostly metered, and the surrounding gardens are well-maintained with mature citrus, pine and palm trees. The interior of the building is decorated with beautiful solid wood staircases and marble floors. Really enjoyed the large bronze statue of President Ronald Reagan and the book/ gift shop was fun to look through. See more..

  9. 3.0 Odalmelech (1 review)
    - ancient stone faces dating back to 849 AD but hard to recognize
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
this is towards the water on the main road from the capitol building. Once you're reached the water's edge, turn right. You will see two stones that look like they're placed there to mark the entrance to someone's; they're just before the school (on the right). The first time around we didn't even notice them. Drive or walk slowly or you'll miss this just like we did. The average rating is really generous. You wouldn't spend more than couple of minutes here See more..

    Airai War Canoe image
Kabekl also known as War Canoe was the major type of ocean vessel that are distinguished from all others in Pacific area, they are usually low in the water when compared to the length of the boat and the size of the sail. Nevertheless, Palauan’s retained great skills in manipulation and maneuver of their canoe either by sail or paddle. The Airai war canoe was built around the 90’s by some of the elders of Airai and some of younger man who are involved in man’s association in the village, the tools that was used to carve the canoe was adze tools which is very common in every village who are construction the canoes. The war canoe’s length is base of the certain trunk of the tree and its quality, better yet, the longer the better, they’re usually 40 feet in length or more and 2 feet deep, to accommodate 40 people, and if you noticed the rope made of coconut husk is being used to hold all parts of the war canoe together as a replacement for nails.
