My husband and I travelled with our Dive Shop, SunReef Mooloolaba to Truk Lagoon for a seven night holiday. Blue Lagoon Dive Shop in our resort looked after our diving needs and we had the same Captain (Stenson) and DiveMaster (Rambo) each day. Between Sunday to Friday afternoon we managed 13 wonderful dives. Rambo advised us before each dive what to look for so we got the most of each dive. You could return many times for a dive holiday and not see the same wreck twice. Loads of beautiful soft and hard corals, brilliant colours and great fish life. You can hire dive gear there. Staff take cold water. Take your underwater camera, sunscreen, a hat/cap and whatever diving gear you own. See more..

The dives were great, a lot of wrecks, only wrecks. You can really get into the story of the war, since it is all very well preserved. You can see bullets, tanks, skulls, massive engine rooms. The Thorfinn is a very old boat, but fully functional. If you book there, stay in the lower cabins, as the cabins on main deck are very noisy (engine room). Staff on the boat was very helpful. We had difficulty getting wi fi, it kept being turned off, we had to ask to be turned on several times a day, which was a bit annoying. Same with Air conditioning. Food was of poor quality, more due to the lack of ingredients provided to the kitchen, than the efforts of the kitchen staff. Quite small portions. There is a big variety of movies and tv shows available on board, which was very nice, after diving 4-5 times a day. Bring your own wine/beer, as it is expensive on board. few cockroaches on board, standard...hehehe See more..

After 2 years of waiting traveled to Chuuk, arrived on 13th Feb 2023, to be told the boat was broke, trip was off By the captain of the boat, no contact from the company. just left to our own resources to try and salvage something from the trip. Since arriving home no contact from the company with any sort of apology or offer of compensation. I have received a full refund from Dive Quest my travel company. who supported us as best they could under the circumstances. it was my second visit to Truk, first visit I used the Odyssey Boat, such a different and better experience.
