Рядом с которым находится известный мемориальный камень, посвящённый сожжению ведьмы Kongla Ann, произошедшему в этих местах и местный музей. Первые сведения о храме, судя по его краткой истории, написанной на вывеске рядом с ним - относятся к второй половине 13-го века. Однако старый храм был уничтожен в результате русско-Шведской войны в 1658г. Новый храм был построен в 1755 г., но сильно пострадал во время Второй мировой войны, восстановлен только в 1988-89гг., а в 1998 году был переведен в Реестр памятников.     The first written record of Vihula manor in Lahemaa National Park dates back to 1501. At the time it belonged to the Danish baron Hans von Lode. The manor was damaged by fire during the Great Northern War, after which it was purchased by the Wekebros, who bequeathed it to their daughter's family, the von Helffreichs. In 1810 it was purchased in turn by Alexander von Schubert. The manor you see today at Vihula was built during the era of the von Schuberts, between 1820 and 1880. It has since been fully restored and renovated, and now houses a fine restaurant and luxury spa hotel.     We were pleasantly surprised by this museum. It has a lot of history and you can easily spend couple of hours there. We went only to the mõis museum that costs €4 per adult. We were lucky to visit during the summer festival which was brilliant for kids as well as adults. They organised numerous tents and activities around the park where you had to do something to get a stamp and a little prize.     Rakvere’s monument to the War of Independence was unveiled on 30 August 1925. Its six-stage terraced concrete base was produced by master builder Reinhold Veigel under the direction of construction engineer Ferdinand Gustav Adoff. The bronze forms were cast in Italy based on models produced by Amandus Adamson. The monument reaches a height of 8.5 metres, while the bronze forms stand approximately 2 metres tall. The original monument was destroyed in autumn 1940; this copy was erected on 30 August 1992. The artists who created the replica are sculptor Lembit Palm and architect Kuno Raude. It is divided using barrages into four smaller lakes: Lake Suurjarv also known as the ‘upper lake’; Lake Karujarv, also known as the ‘lower lake’; Lake Aiajarv; and Lake Iiri or the ‘Irish lake’. What makes Porkuni famous is the floating islands of Lake Suurjarv,which has a diving tower and where you can hire boats. It is also home to the Kaie spring. But his love for the girl was not reciprocated, and it is said that one day while Kaie was gathering hay by the lake he threw her into the water.
