We spend a good week on a safari starting from Maun, ending in Kasane / Victoria Falls and loved the Xakanax area in Okavango Delta most. We opted for a tailor-made tented safari through a company called "Sekanka Safari", which we can recommend to anybody looking for a small safari company to take their family on the safari of a life time. When looking at safaris we wanted to do it all: Okavango Delta, Chobe, Moreni, Savuti, Victoria Falls, under the assumption that the areas would be very different from each other. In reality they are not that different allthough we found the Xakanaxa area to be the most stunning of all. We were very lucky with the game sights we had there and perhaps that helps with our preference for that area. After those, the game ride in Chobe felt very average. I know that sounds very snobbish but after such an amazing start of our safari tour I guess we were spoiled ;-). See more..

My partner and I did the Best of Chobe Safari. We spent 3 days on the House boat the Pangolin Voyager and 3 nights in the Pangolin Chobe Hotel. The warm welcome by the staff in both places were exceptional, no request was too hard to accomodate, including supplying us with a new tube of toothpaste. The chefs, well they make deliciousness out of the ingredients they have on hand, you certainly did not go hungry. Our photographic host Danielle was FANTASTIC. She ensured every guest had one on one time with her, explaining various aspects of photography as well as light room. Due to her excellent teaching skills I have a new passion capturing birds in flight, something I never believed I would be able to do. I still need loads of practice but this was a great starting point. Danielle pointed out alternate concepts like high and low key when the conditions were right, WOW what great images these concepts produced. I simply can't recommend the whole experience enough. We booked our trip to Botswana and Zimbabwe through Gondwana Tours after searching the web for a local agent. I did not know them before. From the first moment, Steffi gave us an excellent service and spent much time to accompany us in the search for the best itinerary, putting focus on our specific needs and wishes. We had to postpone the trip a few times due to different reasons but Steffi was always there to help us reconsider everything. We came back from our 14-day trip a weeke ago. We had an amazing experience. It was one of the best trips we've ever done, and we are travelling a lot. During the Safari, we always felt that if we had an issue Steffi would be there to assist us. What an experience! Normally I would opt for a bit more luxury on my holidays, but since Botswana is quite pricy, we choose a mobile safari instead. Don't expect a 5 star hotel-like experience, however you get so much in return. Let me start with the guides. We were with a group of 9 and had Matambo and Robson as guides. For the most of the time Robson guided our jeep and this man is simply a category on its own. We have been lucky enough to go on quite some safaris, but never encountered a guide like Robson. He not only was very able to spot animals (understatement, he is a legend at spotting animals) but he also helped us HOW he did this. We have learned so much about listening to nature (the morning journal), observing the behavior of impala's and zebra's and tracking footprints. Next to that he is hilarious. Robson for me is the best guide I ever had. Food was excellent, prepared by cook Viks. Some minor improvement points: a change of towels and bedlinnen once during the 10 day trip would be recommendable. But nothing beats hearing elephant ears flapping right next to your tent during a shower. See more..

If you want to leave the troubles of the world behind, go to Botswana. If you want to organise it with ease go to Safari Specialists. Friends and family were somewhat shocked I was going to Botswana but I tried to explain to them that it was easy with Safari Specialists as they had taken any worry out of it!! Nadine and TT organised my Botswana trip with only a few weeks notice. They were very thorough and replied to my emails very promptly. It was just great that TT was there to meet me in Maun in both directions. On the way out he had the all important negative pcr test in his hand for me. Nadine arranged with my last camp to have the pcr test done at the camp airstrip. This was an expensive option but worry free and it allowed me to stay at camp in what was only a seven night trip to bots all up rather than waste a night in maun and get it done there. I would definitely recommend this company - you can’t beat local knowledge and it made me much more confident compared to adding another layer by using a foreign travel agent. A charming touch at the end, TT presented me with a photobook handmade in Maun from recycled paper. I will definitely use it to treasure the memories of my trip to stunning Botswana. See more..

In addition to being professional and responsive to our needs, the agency was able to deliver a an unforgettable trip to Botswana + Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe). We were traveling with a young child, so safety was very important as well as seeing the country/wildlife and we were never disappointed. All stops/hotels/safaris were planned and coordinated perfectly so we have not had any issues and spent all of our time enjoying the experience. We were actually at Moremi in May, at the end of their dry season before the rains come. We thought it might be easier to see the animals when there were fewer places for water, but our guide told us that regardless of the time of year, there is plenty of animals to see...and boy, was he right! We were there for three days, so we had a total of 6 drives and on each drive we had an amazing experience. From early morning lion kills of a zebra to the late afternoon elephant family playing with their kids in the mud, the viewing was some of the best we've ever had. Definitely will be going back!! Roger and Safari Lifestyles delivered not only an incredible vacation for our first trip to Botswana but also an excellent planning experience that was easy and convenient as we worked with Roger through email to plan the entire trip. Roger was always reliable and promptly responded to our questions with thoughtful, detailed feedback generously sharing his knowledge of Botswana and any other miscellaneous topics we asked about such as photography. He was so helpful throughout the entire process by listening to our thoughts and ideas and providing a range of options, itineraries and camps at different price points to consider that would deliver the incredible experience we hoped for all the while maintaining an unbiased opinion on which camps to select. The Safari Lifestyles website was also extremely informative and was a valuable resource for us when deciding on which camps to visit. And ultimately, the final price point of our trip was lower than we expected compared to others which was another added benefit. Roger proved to be flexible with us as we changed dates and camps after the initial planning and also subsequently added activities to the start and end of our trip. He even arranged other private activities for us in Botswana with reliable businesses when we expressed our interest in certain activities which enhanced our experience and we greatly appreciated. For the primary portion of our trip, we visited the Kwando camps of Mma Dinare, Lagoon and Kwara for three nights each. Each camp delivered a unique and memorable experience and incredible wildlife encounters. It was easy to see why Roger recommended Kwando for their focus on the wildlife experience and game drives which is what we were most interested in when planning our safari. 5 years ago we spent 4 wonderful days in Okawango Delta with Walking Stick Safari and Tours, and this time we had 5 days, one as awesome as the other. Exciting game drives with lions, cheetas and leopards (not to mention elephants, hippos, crocs and all kinds of birds we were especially interested in), nice campsites with just the two of us and Philimon and his crew in the midth of Moremi Game Reserve. Mr Brown provided our family with a shuttle service from Kasane to Victoria Falls and back. Before the trip his office guided us w.r.t. the documentation requirements to cross the border between Botswana and Zimbabwe. The shuttle vehicle was clean and in excellent condition. During the trip he shared interesting facts about the surrounding area and we had an interesting conversation. He accompanied us to the gate of the Victoria Falls Park and made sure we were charged the correct rate. After our visit to the park he collected us again at the park entrance and took us to the Lookout Cafe to have an unforgettable lunch experience.
