Stunning place
That is beautiful place for a day out in Slovakia. I've been several times in northern Slovakia ( Tatra, Poprad and Spis regions) and mara must be one of the best places to relax ..we had beautiful hot weather so You can swim, sunbathe , kayak, take a boat trip . there are restaurants and shops. Its definetely worth visit even if You staying like us in Zakopane Poland just the 1.5hrs drive.

Nice lake and not very accesible
It seems the local authorities do not care much about the lake- which is very nice. Iis accesible only in a few locations, not always easy.

Amazing stop for short rest
We were on our way from Liptovsky Mikulaš to another city and we just took a short stop at the rest stop next to motorway. The views were amazing and very calming. We could just sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful view, watch big and small fish swimming in quite clear water and of course take beautiful photos. Not sure about activities for a longer stay in this place but for a short break from driving it is amazing.
