Relaxing walking
One side of the lake is free and one costs 15 rmb, it is possible to buy a combo ticket (great Wall and East lake for 70 rmb). It is a nice man made lake, relaxing walking watching the local life

Nice lake in the middle of the city
You have to pay to enter the lake park but if you are going on the Southern Wall you can buy a combined ticket for 70RMB (Wall usually 65 and Eastlake usually 15) Pleasant spot for a morning or afternoon walk, paddle boats etc, and very few people - not overrun with tourists like many spots in China. Well worth a visit.

Easy Lake views
Nice to walk along the man made East Lake with it’s traditional lakeside Chinese motifs. It’s also good for people watching. Part of the lake is free and another part can be accessed for a small fee with the ticket for walking on the ancient wall.
