Best way to discover local nature
only 2 km walk and u will rich virgin park with wild cows, horses and birds. it is possible to contact horses very close. and u can see a lot of different birds there.

Perfect time in nature (bring with you carrots)
Lake Engure - the biggest lake by the sea in Latvia. It is 6 km long, the maximum depth is 2-3 meters. Name Engure has come from the Liv word eel. Previously it was called Eel lake, though right not there are wery few eels left. Perfect time with family.

One of the Latvia’s largest nature parks; remain careful!
65 km long cycle trek, bird-watching (annually in April and October), wild cows and horses, the Pathway of Orchids (end of June, early July). Recommended visiting time April-October. Entrance is free and you may go through the field to the bird watching tower. BUT still be careful and don’t get too familiar with animals - when we came there horses were friendly but at one moment they started to fight with each other and a men, standing too close, could get hurt during that moment. Remember - it is wild nature, even if they got used to people! If you come here you may also visit nearby castles and museums - Jaunmoku or Slokenbeka Manors, Jaunpils or Durbes Palaces, unique place were sea meets Riga gulf - cape Kolka, or a Valguma lake and their Barefoot path - “Valguma World”.
