Longest bridge in the Netherlands

Just over 5 kilometers long it is the longest bridge in the country replacing the ferry between Zierikzee and Kats that until 1965 was the only connection for motorized traffic between Schouwen-Duiveland and Noord-Beveland. At the westside there is a cycling path which is a delight to cycle along. The enormous bodies of water on both sides of the bridge are impressive and quite exceptional by Dutch standards. The bridge construction itself looks a bit 1950s without a lot of space. Avoid crossing by bicycle if you have the wind against you. Crossing the bridge is toll-free for both bicycles/pedestrians and motorized vehicles.

    Very Informative
Visited this place while on a business trip. The tour here was very informative and was very much impressed by the great engineers that assisted to help this bridge. Can't recommend enough

One of the few ways to get on the island
This very long bridge takes one of the main access roads to the island. One of the sections can be lifted for passing ships (which may cause a traffic jam on the bridge).
