Unexpected
Very good and quite unexpected. Informative about the community and liberation. Nice cafe and friendly staff.

Excellent little museum in Westkapelle
I went to Westkapelle to see the site of the WW2 landings, and finding the museum was an unexpected bonus. The museum is small. The upstairs part covers the history of Westkapelle, from founding through to its specialism in dike workers. Downstairs covers the WW2 landing and aftermath. Outside is a Sherman tank, a landing craft and a chunk of a shipwreck, and a memorial to the landings. The museum is very well done, with interactive exhibits and displays. Some of the displays downstairs have not got the English translations, which left me a bit bewildered about the exhibits. The cafe is spacious, reasonably priced and has a good range of food and drinks. The toilets were spotless. The staff were very helpful and had good English
