What a Great Work
It's always good to make a stop when we passed this place. Took a little walk on the dyke and enjoyed to see the great work. Be sure that you wear warm clothes as it's always windy.

There's more in the Netherlands than Amsterdam and tulips...
The best way to see the Deltaworks is to take a car and drive the semi-highway along the coast between Rotterdam and Vrouwenpolder. You will cross several dams, scenic farmland scenery and lake-side villages. Especially the spot at Neeltje Jans (free parking at the sea-side) is good to stop, as you can walk very near to the dams, and it is an excellent place for photo making, doing a pick-nick or even going to the nearby beach. I brought several people to this place (I am living nearby), and most people find it almost futuristic, at least an engineering marvel.

Amazing
Although there are quicker routes through and around Zeeland none are as impressive as the coastal route (N57) over such structures as the Deltawerken, Peilerdam and the Oosterscheldekering. It never ceases to amaze me every time we go over it. Combined with a trip to Deltapark Neeltje Jans this would make for an enjoyable, exciting and educational full day for all the family.
