Charlottenlund Fort

Very good service and lovely team. Beach Park is a lovely place to spend time and relax. The cannons and fort moat are lovely to walk past. It is my favourite place to do a quick run or stroll with friends, glass of wine/beer. Treasure cove in the middle of a busy road. :)

    Eat with a view!
This place is located just next to the shorline and it's quite popular. The food here is very good and the staff do their best to get things right, however, our order had to be completed as one in our group hade an allergy that they didn't quite get right the first time.

    A fascinating site.
Charlottenlund is an affluent area in Copenhagen and the camp is within the walls of a pre-WW1 fort. On the downside: although the pitches are within the fort's defensive walls it is, ironically, the least well defended site I've been to as the whole area, fort, shoreline, park is a public space. There were signs warning that thefts had been a problem but we experienced no trouble. To its advantage: the setting is splendid; the facilities, set within the old magazines are clean and modern and there are shops easily within walking distance. Entrance to the facilities, dining and sitting areas, washing machines, tumble dryers and showers are all operated by a pre-loaded card system. I was troubled by the seeming restrictions of a three minute shower but the flow can be stopped and started and three minutes turned out to be ample. The teenage one of my two sons came under a similar regime when we arrived home! It can be tempting to keep using the swipe card but be careful: Denmark is a very expensive country, although any mistakes made are logged and the site owners refund for genuine errors. Use the bus to visit Copenhagen: the stop is just outside the camp site, the trip fascinating and if you prebook by mobile, a very simple process, relatively cheap. Altogether we enjoyed a great stay in Denmark which was worth our towing round trip of 2184 miles.
