Lots going on!

The caldera has changed a bit over the past few years. The lava lake has dropped down out of sight but it’s amazing to see all the leftovers from the latest eruptions.

    Volcano Park HI
    A great trip from Kona to the National Park. So much to see on the way- Black Sand Beach is so amazing- saw Turtles resting on the beach- Stopped at Punaluu Bake Shop in town of Naalehu and got yummy pastry called malasadas. Volcano visitor center and Volcano Lodge House are a must see.

    Trip highlight
    Check the drive out on Thursday 12/12 and hiked the Ili 4 mile loop trail. It was well worth the time, took about an hour and a half bucket is they take three hours depending on your speed and shoes. Take the trip down the rim to Oceanside too
