Maulana Arshid Khan Mosque & Mausoleum
The correct name of the Maulana is Arshid Khan and not the non-sensical 'Eshiding' something. The mosque opens just 20 minutes before each of the five prayers and closes 20 minutes after. Thus, the mosque can only be visited at prayer times, and by Muslims only. This is unlike every other Muslim country where a mosque can be visited by non-Muslims at any time of the day. The Maulana Arshid Khan mosque is in a derelict condition and is badly neglected. The mausoleum of the holy man is located in the adjacent cemetery, which is also in a state of utter neglect. The wooden lattice-work structure encloses a have grave (about 12 ft long), as was the custom, to edify great men of Islamic learning. Worth a visit, but only to see the ruinous state of old Kuqa.

    Unable to visit
Went there this past week. Unable to enter the actual tomb, but there were some people praying outside the gates. The surrounding cemetery and Uyghur neighbourhood were really beautiful though! As well as the naan places across the road!
