Fantastic easy hike
This place is amazing!! We hired a car for the day to take us around to four main sights for ¥500. The entry is ¥45 and definitely too low! What a beautiful canyon! Wear sneakers as you will walk through the sandy bottom of the canyon and your shoes might get wet as there is a stream running through. Do not go if there have been rains as it is prone flash floods. Really incredible place that takes about an hour by car but must see!!

Make sure visit canyon right before
We hired a taxi off the street for CNY 400 and agreed we would visit for 4 hours. If we did it over we probably would say 5 hours. There are 2 tolls of CNY 20 each and that was included in our price but make sure. We walked to the end of the canyon in less than 1 hour and then back. The canyon cost CNY 41 and was nice but probably not worth the cost of the taxi with entry unless you also visit the free canyon 1.5 kilometers before arriving- it's on your left side and easy to see. We knew to visit this canyon but didn't know how far it would go. We probably walked about 1/2 hour in plus we went to the hill right in the beginning. This canyon was so much prettier than Kuche so don't miss it! We are not sure how far we could have walked but doing over we would give ourselves at least another 90 minutes here. Don't forget your passport.

A spectacular geological feature except for the poo.
We visited this spectacular canyon/ravine 30 October 2017 in the late afternoon. The rock formation is a conglomerate that has been cut through by a river leaving a narrow ravine with 30 metre high sides over 2 km long. The flood escape islands with ropes left dangling are an optomistic feature since a flash flood roaring through here would leave little chance of escape! There are fairly clean toilets at the entrance so it beggars belief that there is excrement and paper in various parts of the canyon. A bit of education re when and where to relieve oneself would be useful. I would rate this 5=excellent but the poo detracts somewhat, hence only a 4=good.
