What a view!
Drove up to top of the bluff three times during our visit so we could see the city and river in the morning (sun behind us), afternoon (sun starting to set), and evening (lights of the city). No one time beats the others, a great view anytime! Also enjoyed the trails nearby as they were nicely groomed for a winter walk. HIGHLY recommend.

On a Clear Day....You can see almost forever
Take the time for a drive up Grandad Bluff. It's a perfect way to see the city of La Crosse, appreciate the marshes, the riverfront, see the U campus and just appreciate a nearly 360 view from the overlook platform. Nice restroom facilities and a shelter house as well. There were trails in the area, but we didn't have time to stay for a hike.
