Absolutely lovely!
We visited the national mosque which can be relatively quick, then walked across the street to the museum. It is a beautiful building and the artwork is displayed amongst light, spacious areas. I absolutely loved it and found everything well labeled and in pristine condition. My husband and our 2 teenage kids (we are all American) also appreciated it and said they learned a lot. The display of ancient swords, jewelry and books were favorites. I fell in love with the special exhibit on calligraphy- so well done and the artwork is so different from anything we’ve seen. The miniature mosque exhibit was also a hit with our family. I think we spent maybe an hour there, and I’m glad we made time for it. I also noted there are planned activities for younger kids but you’d need to check the schedule ahead of time (it was at 3pm the morning we went).

Nice museum, best for adults
The building is absolutely gorgeous and there is a great deal to see. They have covered a huge variety of cultures, eras, and geographical areas. Very thorough collection. However, this is very much a traditional museum: walk around, read labels, look at artifact, move on. Nothing interactive at all. Just something to be aware of if you are taking kids.
