wonderful small museum based on a clever concept
Don‘t miss this one-of-a-kind museum that will make you feel like you‘ve stepped into other peoples‘ lives for a short second. The museum exhibits a collection of local voices, memories and story fragments, thought provoking and humorous – curated in various ways. The cinema is a perfect space to sit down and experience life in winter and the newly installed Sensory Labratory adds an exciting and fun activity for both adults and children.

Heartwarming and inspiring
Probably the best museum we visited in Iceland and one of the best museums we have ever seen. The smell exhibition showed that no matter where you live or grew up, there are simply small things that are common to us all :) So much love and history in a small building. I loved it!

Refreshing and Joyful Experience
This charming gem of a museum offers visitors a chance "to meet" those who have called Iceland home for many generations, a few years, or less through video, photographs, and text. Visitors are invited to see everyday items anew and experience the pleasure of fine visual and oral storytelling. Highly recommended.
