Doll Mueum: Cute With A Unique Neighbor
If you stroll along Keszthely's downtown shopping street (thanks God no driving there!) you find several small museums in off streets. Obviously everybody plans to visit the main attraction in Keszthely, the beautiful Helikon Museum (Festetics Chateaux) but some of the small museums worth a visit as well. One is the Doll Museum if you are interested in folk art. There are hundreds of dolls dressed in wonderful costumes from all regions of Hungary and also a lot from Transylvania. It is too bad that there are no English captions. When you finished don't forget to drop in next door where a unique replica of Hungary's Parliment building is on public dsplay. The peculiarity is that it was made of 4,5 million sea shells by a lady during 14 years. This 21 feet long structure is truly a unique piece not to be missed. You are better off if you buy a combined ticket for the Doll Museum and the Parliament.

    Interesting if you are nearby
If you want to spend a day on the northern part of Balaton lake, this is a nice destination. Not very large, but cozy and interesting. Several hundreds of dolls from 1800 onwards. It's not a necessary a destination, but something worthing a visit if you are nearby.
