  1. 5.0 Cape Le Grand National Park (1.060 reviews)
    - Beautiful Park & Stunning Beaches
    National Parks • Beaches
Cape Le Grand National Park image
Well worth visiting. The drive through the park is stunning with all the Christmas trees in flower. The beaches while very windy and the water cold are stunning. We bought a 5 day pass at the tourist bureau in town for $25 best way to do it otherwise $15 per visit. If your stopping at the gate to buy a ticket pull over to the side unlike what many did on xmas day and left their vehicle in the driveway to go buy a ticket from the machine then blocking us that already had prepaid tickets from entering the park! We took our 2WD down onto the begining of lucky bay beach as the sand is very hard. Alot of cars on the beach and alot, what we felt driving way too fast, kids just weren't looking for cars as they played on the beach and nor should they! There's a little van on the beach that sells snacks and coffee. Toilet blocks we used where all well maintained See more..
  2. 5.0 Karijini National Park (444 reviews)
    - Absolutely Amazing
    National Parks
    Karijini National Park image
Amazing above expectations. We had a fabulous 4 nights at the Karijini Eco Resort. First things first, yes the roads are bad. If you have the option go out of the park and onto the sealed road to get to places if you can. I would recommend a 4WD as even the roads that are't 4 WD only are very rough. We found if you were careful and took the really rough bits slowly & were brave enough to go a bit faster over the corrugations it was Ok. Having said that the park is sensational, everywhere you look there are OMG moments. I will review the gorges individually but just the general environment is so enjoyable. We were there in early Nov which I know is not recommended but even though it was 39 deg C it is a dry heat and I've been much hotter in 32 deg in Queensland. We knew nothing about Karijini until friends recommended it and it is one of the highlights of our travels which has included amazing places in Europe & Asia. If you get the chance go but do lots of homework, it will pay off. See more..
  3. 4.5 Francois Peron National Park (361 reviews)
    - Amazing Place to Visit
    National Parks
    Francois Peron National Park image
The Cape is well worth a visit. The 4WD track is soft in parts, but a relatively easy drive for even a novice off-roader. Be prepared for emergencies though as it gets hot and dry. The views all along the various spots are great, the Cape itself, Skip Jack Point - mesmerising and we spent hours observing the various types of marine life swimming past. The kids really enjoyed the many bbq facilities along the camping spots. Big Lagoon is a short drive, about 30 mins on from the Homestead and definitely on the list of places to visit. We always enjoy our time here. See more..

    Mirima National Park image
This is a small national park with only 3-4 small walks throughout. We parked near the cemetery and started the hike in (only 1 km one way) and did all the other 3 lookout walks. It is a great national park with such unique rock formations with great colours, I would recommend families coming here as it’s an easy hike for all. There is a vehicle fee to get in also which you pay for at the electronic pay station when you go in. 6. 4.5 Beedelup National Park (213 reviews)
    - Beedelup Falls - a worthwhile walk
    National Parks • Parks
    Beedelup National Park image
Unfortunately we only got to see one part of the National Park - the Beedelup Falls, about 20 mins drive west of Pemberton and certainly worthy of a stop. Highlights were the 2km circuit track through the majestic Karri forest, the falls themselves - not a sheer drop, more of a cascade - and the suspension bridge across the creek. For us another treat was a family of Splendid Fairy Wrens that we watched flitting around for a while. The track is wheelchair accessible as far as the viewing platform above the falls, but then is a bit up and down on the other side of the suspension bridge. Still very manageable for anyone of average fitness. See more..
  7. 4.5 Fitzgerald River National Park (154 reviews)
    - Stunning
    National Parks
    Fitzgerald River National Park image
We visited Point Ann from our base at Bremer Bay. It took approximately an hr via gravel roads. The shire were grading the shire maintained road though the national park road was heavily corrugated. We deflated the tyres slightly and made for a better ride. Park enterance fees apply. The park looked fantastic. The colours of the sky contrasting against the low lying shrubs and the pristine blue water. Unfortunately we missed the whales by a few days there were about 8 plus calves earlier in the week. Toilets and camp kitchens with bbqs are provided. See more..
  8. 4.5 Tunnel Creek National Park (116 reviews)
    - OK, but extremely busy
    National Parks
    Tunnel Creek National Park image
We unfortunately arrived at the entrance of the Tunnel Creek cave, just after two bus loads of tourists arrived. The wait time to enter was way over the tp as each of the folks struggled to make their way through the rocks at the entrance. It was also the necessary for each tour bus folks to stop and take pics of each other which delayed further. What we saw was OK, but try to avoid in busy time. See more..

Beautiful hike It was a beautiful hike to Castle Rock. Sometimes it's quite steep, but mostly in the forest and we enjoyed the shade. We went up to the Karri Lookout and the balancing Rocks. The scenery is amazing. It is worth to do it even if you don't go up to the top end through the narrow gap. See more..

    - Amazing wilderness!

    Walpole-Nornalup National Park image
Nothing quite prepares one for the places to visit here! To see the majestic Karri, Marri and the exceptional Red Tingle trees - one can't help but feel as though you have taken a step back in time! Do not miss out on the seeing the Giant Tingle Tree! That is worth seeing. And see the tree growing out of rock! Walking is easy, pathways fairly flat. To see these, just a few minutes east from Walpole. No fees, no conveniences, food, just make sure you have water with you. After doing that, go and do the 'Walk Among the Giants' (need to drive there). There is a suspension bridge that rises 40 metres above the ground, tends to sway a bit!! Fees apply when visiting Valley of the Giants. Photos don't not really give places like this justice, just not enough room on the camera! See more..

This park contains the Natural Bridge, the Gap, Blowholes, Lighthouse, Whaling Station and plenty of other walks and hikes. 12. 5.0 Kalbarri Skywalk (97 reviews)
    - Worth the drive
Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 1-2 hours National Parks • Lookouts
    Kalbarri Skywalk image
Perched right on the cliff-top, two 100-metre-high lookouts project 25 and 17 metres beyond the rim of the Murchison Gorge. Visitors can venture out on the skywalks and enjoy incredible views of the spectacular gorge and surrounding environment. Learn about the traditional owners ‘Nanda’ heritage and culture through interpretive signage and artwork. Discover local fauna statues, fossils and geolocation information on the 400 million year old sandstone that makes these gorges. Pathways are flat and level to the Skywalk, toilets and shelters for easy access for people with prams and wheelchairs. There is also undercover seating and a kiosk. Roads are sealed. 13. 4.5 Mount Frankland National Park (91 reviews)
    - 360 degree views from the top of Mount Frankland
    National Parks
    Mount Frankland National Park image
It is quite a drive (30 minutes) on a red dusty gravel track (beware of large lorries in the middle of the road) to get to the carpark. There's a short walk to an information / education centre and then the walk starts up to the top. You pass an old cabin where the Lookout used to live and then on up. There is a ladder to climb enroute so physically you have to have some ability. The climb is definitely worth as the views are 360 and magnificent and on the top is a lookout station which is manned. Again there was hardly anyone else around and we stopped and picnicked by the ladder on a bench. We returned to the carpark and then carried on to the Wilderness Lookout which had some good views. 14. 4.5 Wellington National Park (80 reviews)
    - Fantastic mural on dam wall
    National Parks
    Wellington National Park image
We had heard good things about the massive mural across the dam wall at Wellington Dam, so went and checked it out from two angles - from the road in front of the dam (below the level of the dam) and from the lookout a little above the dam wall. At the latter there was a massive carpark, with virtually no visitors. The cafe here was also closed. Both viewpoints were just stunning, with the one from the lookout more panoramic. The project must have been an enormous undertaking. Also dropped in at the Honeymoon Pool, a delightful spot. Was really impressed by the quality of the facilities here. See more..

  17. 4.5 Mandu Mandu Gorge (65 reviews)
    - Beautiful gorge and nice walk - some steep incline/declines
National Parks • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails
    Mandu Mandu Gorge image
If you enjoy a walk then I would recommend this over Yardie Creek - the Yardie walk provides a lovely view, but is a short and busy walk. Mandu Mandu was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. There are a couple of steep, scrabbly inclines and declines, but it is manageable for most people. We did not have a 4WD and our little Swift made it up the access road. See more..
  18. 4.5 Ross Graham Lookout (51 reviews)
    - Interesting walk to the river
Spent < 1 hour National Parks • Lookouts • Hiking Trails
    Ross Graham Lookout image
About the middle of Ajana-Kalbarri Rd there is access to Kalbarri NP with a sealed road leading to Hawk's Head lookout and Ross Graham lookout. After about 500 there is the turn to Ross where the road ends at the car park where restrooms and a sheltered picnic area are available. A walk of 100 meters takes you to the lookout which offers a limited view of the river. Continuing the not difficult path for another 250m you reach the river bed. Here the Murchison river flows between flat stones (on which it is easy to walk), after having formed a large pool upstream. A few Australian black swan (Cygnus atratus) swam quietly in the pool. Interesting are the rock walls of the gorge and numerous flowers that can be photographed here. An interesting walk to the Murchison river bed. See more..

    Windjana Gorge National Park image
Windjana gorge is unique. It is one of the best gorges we have enjoyed, not just in the Kimberley's, but in all of our travels within the country. A fantastic variety of wildlife abounds, sheer cliffs, great sunsets and camping, water and hot showers, make Windjana a great stop for a few days. there are entry and camping fee's, but they are minimal. You can also visit the ruins of Lillimooloora Homestead, which later became the police outpost- it is located nearby, only a few kilometres away towards Tunnel Creek. - Wild, windy wilderness
    National Parks
    Cape Arid National Park image
Cape Arid is another one of the beautiful National Parks in Southern W.A. Although 120km from Esperance it is well worth the drive to spend the day, (or more) here if you want to camp. If you are taking the second option, ensure you are self sufficient with water, food, camping/ fishing gear and tools. The standard $12 entry fee applies unless you have the All Parks Pass, as well as nightly camping fees of $15 for two. There is magnificent scenery on the walks here as well as good beach driving with a 4WD to some nice fishing spots. Unfortunately we were a little early to see any of the whale migration. See more..

We were just going to go to Windy Harbour with our van on the back and have a look and really didnt expect much.We were in awe.The wildflowers were out and from the minute we turned onto the road into Windy Harbour we were stunned by its beauty.I really dont think I have seen that many wildflowers and the colours were amazing. The coast line and the views were great and we will be back again during the season to spend more time there. Most areas we could take the caravan except for Salmon Bay which was a pity.Beautiful wheel chair accessible tracks and lookouts,Drop toilets, picnic areas and all ammenites.Dont drive past and miss it.Not sure if you have to pay the park fee as we have a year pass which is worth investing in as well.RAC do a park pass for $60 a tear and we would have used that in the first week of being away See more..
  22. 4.5 West Cape Howe National Park (38 reviews)
    - Great place to explore and stay the night. Nice beaches.

West Cape Howe National Park image
My Partner and I walked the hiking track to the end and added a stone to the already large pile. The track is 15km there and back, the track itself is hilly. I do not recommend you take kids if you are going to walk the full length. (There is a 4WD track to get you to the end and beach if you want to be family friendly) It took us 5.5hrs with stops to take pictures and get drone footage with a stop at Dunsky beach, where we saw Seals playing in the water! Although it was tiring, we did it easily on a cloudy day. Just jeans and joggers and a backpack with water, fruit and drone. There’s no water bubblies/fountains, so be sure to bring plenty of your own and some insect repellent. Saw around 3 snakes and a few lizards on the path so be weary! See more..

The Gloucester National Park has some great walking tracks and is home to the huge karri tree, the Gloucester Tree. it is over 60 metres tall and used to serve as a fire lookout, which you can actually climb. There are a few other trees which were used this way, in the area. now it’s a scenic spot for visitors to enjoy. The Bibbulmun Track passes through the park and one of the nicest walks is the Cascades, where the Lefroy Brook flows over a series of rocky areas where you can walk along the river. 25. 4.5 Warren National Park (34 reviews)
    - Has one of the best walking trails in Western Australia
    Spent 2-3 hours National Parks
    Warren National Park image
As a group of 16, some inexperienced, we enjoyed our hike on the Warren River Loop Trail. The trail is well-marked, but before setting out, and especially if one is inexperienced, one should read up on the trail. It's important to know the trail marker and follow it. We didn't and we walked an extra 2 km at the start. The mossy vegetation gave an ethereal feel. It was early spring, and it was forecast to rain, but it turned out that only light showers wet us, and the rain added to the beauty of the experience. The walk beside the Warren River was the best. Since we walked the loop clockwise, after parking at the Bicentennial Tree, which turned out to be badly-advised, we had to struggle on the climb away from the river. There were several camp grounds and picnic spots, which would be welcomed by visitors, either coming in vehicles, or like us, I foot. A must-do, and one of the best trails in the State. See more..

    Drovers Cave National Park image
We initially missed this turn off from the main sealed road. It is a very hairy 4wd track and the first 2km is very boggy sand (yes, we did get bogged). The track changes from wide and sandy, to narrow with rocks and close trees (our 4wd did get scratched - adding to the scratches already there :-)). It wasn't too hot (around 25) and the bees were fine. We found the bees didn't come into the cave. A colony of bats on the ceiling - could hear them squeaking. A kangaroo skeleton near the entrance. The bee combs are amazing. If you are experienced with 4wdriving, I'd recommend it. See more..

Lovely stop, all just reopened today and the boardwalk and signage now make it easy to navigate even with very young children. Drove the sandy southern track entry with a 2003 Rav4 AWD 27 Nov 2020 without any issues, some slightly boggy parts but easily traversed. Might be a different circumstance if was done 4 weeks later if weather was hotter and really dry (we had a day of approx 25 deg celcius). Tyre pressures were left at 36 PSI as we felt no need to lower pressures due to travelling smoothly. Was worth the trip and experience to get there and walk through the cave. See more..

    Shannon National Park image
I thought DPAW were being quite clever designing this park, but the credit does not belong there as the campground in the original site of the Shannon town. So there is lots of history here. It’s spacious, can choose under trees or not under trees. We had site #34 so could easily charge solar panels and yet enjoy the natural bush across the road. Amenities close by. What a treat to have hot showers and flushing toilets. Loved listening to the birds. The walk trail around campground is an easy one but the walk trail to Shannon dam is the best. Easy and interesting information panels along the way. There’s not a lot of choice in the South West for camping with bigger vans, so Shannon is definitely on our list to return to. See more..

We had difficulty finding the start, probably because we left the map behind. Best to drive to tree in the rock carpark, walk on the wansbrough walk trail for 1.6kms and then you'll come across the sign for the devil's slide. There is also a shorter trail up from waddys hut but it's very steep & slippery & won't save you any time. Is a difficult climb at times but we all managed, take it slow on the way down as one adult slipped on their bum on the way down. Beautiful Outlook full the top, the kids loved the challenge too. You'll be surprised at the amount of traffic on the highway and the number of people stopping over in Eucla, but it's well worth visiting. Go down the short road from the Eucla roadhouse past the airport. The old telegraph station is right near the car park but then dunes go on for ages. The beach is about 500m from the car park through the dunes (may be possible to drive a 4WD further in) and is a striking windswept beach where you can sit and gaze out towards Antarctica, probably with no one else around. The ruins of the old jetty are a bit west, while the eastern part has some quite large dunes to run around on. I think the Bunda Cliffs are not in this national park but they're close by and spectacular. See more..

I decided to visit here on a beautiful day in February, and after an early morning start from home I was at the top of Mt Hassell shortly after 8am. Stunning views, and well worth the hike. The last part of the climb especially is rewarding, with a real scramble up a rocky castle-like peak that forms the summit. The outlook from here across to Mt Toolbrunup is spectacular. Very fun and rewarding, although I wouldn't want to come here on a wet and slippery day! This is one of my favourite walks in the Stirlings, behind Mt Toolbrunup and Bluff Knoll. See more..

Remote, quiet (except for the pied butcherbirds) - fantastic place to stay. We used this area as a base and visited The National Park. Flowers and birds being our interest it kept us entertained. Very interesting rock formations as well. Visited by the Volunteer Park Ranger, who always had something interesting to tell you. Well worth the very modest camping fee. See more..

We arrived in the NP just after noon and were greeted by friendly staff just before hitting the toll booth. $15/car and you can drive the 4 km track with pullouts every 300 m or so. There are also walking paths you can follow, but regardless of which you choose, you are free to roam through the Pinnacles-just don’t climb on them. Toilets up at interpretive centre. See more..

Some hard rock climbing required to reach the top, but the sheer rocky cliffs and panoramic views are worth every bit of effort. See more..

We were travelling from Albany to Manjimup and the run is quite long so we needed a stop. Out of the blue this place came up so we pulled in. There is a lot to read and a nice fairly short boardwalk, but we got to the end there was no water; maybe the wrong time of year? The views weren't too bad and there was no one there. See more..

We overshot the small signage for this area 26 km W of Bridgetown or 19 km E of Nannup so keep a look out. It has a parking area, fireplace, toilets, picnic table and meets the Bibbulum track here. There is a sign indicating an easy 20 minute circuit walk, but we did not complete it as it is rather overgrown. However it was a chance to walk among the huge Karri trees seeing we didn't have time to go further south. With a cleanup of the circuit walk it would have been an even better experience. See more..

We were leaving northcliff and had our van on the car and decided to do the Boorara NP.Road out there was around 16kms and most of it unsealed but the road was good and fine to take our van.We were there early in the morning and had the whole place to ourselves.Quiet and just the birds and the sound of the bush around us.The Boorara Tree lookout has a place where we could park the car and van and we did the 5km walk to the Logue Brook Falls.Easy walk until the decent to the falls but they do have a handrail to help you not slip on the wet track(it had been raining when we visited). The whole area is just beautiful and serene with towering tree, wildflowers and bird life.Worth the visit.Go and look in the hut which is a replica of the lookout.Really interesting and lots of information See more..
