Beautiful beach

We initially planned to visit Pantai Madalika Kuta, Pantai Aan and Pantai Mawun. When we arrived to Pantai Mandalika Kuta we were disappointed that development has crept on. The beach is still lovely but it was not what we expected. We then diverted towards Pantai Aan and found that the access road was closed (construction of the MotoGP circuit and facilities we reckon). Our driver then decided to bring us to Pantai Mawun. IT WAS AH-MA -ZING!!!! Beautiful cove. Aquamarine waters of different shades, some fishermens’ boats. Few people except locals and 2 Spanish speaking visitors. A little sad to look at d amount of rubbish that was brought by the waters .... but the water is still lovely. Do visit this beach as soon as possible. With MotoGP starting here in 2021 things will be way different soon.

Don't trust your belongings to local beach sellers!!!
Went to Mawun beach in the end of March 2015. The beach is amazing! I can say it's the most beautiful beach I've been to so far.. View of the lagoon in between two hills, filled with transparent clear blue water.. Very nice place to go when in Lombok!. But the downside of being there - we decided to trust our bag (with phones and some cash) to local people selling coconuts, beer and snacks on the beach. As we thought it would be better than leaving the bag unattended on the beach when we go dip in the water.. And we bought coconut from them, they seemed friendly and nice people.. but later we realized 100k rupiah is missing from the bag.. Our trust in those village people was ruined. Understandable, they are poor and needy, but if someone shows them trust, still they break it.. Left with bittersweet feeling - such a nice piece of nature, but local people's behavior just ruined the idyll..

    Beautiful beach (aggressive beach boy)
We arrived and the beach itself was beautiful. We tried to go sit under a tree and enjoy the breeze and view but were accosted by children selling things. We politely told them we did not want to buy anything. One boy threatened that if we didn’t pay him, he would keep bothering us. We walked as far down the beach as possible to get away from them. Then they followed us and also would not leave another couple alone. We decided to leave to get away from them and complained to the man collecting money at the entrance. As we drove down the road the same boy came by on a scooter following us and threatening us. Not a very good impression for tourism. Will not be retuning.
