Mata Jitu Waterfal, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia

5.0 (43 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Moyo Island Waterfalls

Pleasant View, Nice Walk

The waterfall isn't quite as incredible as the hype, but it is worth visiting. Ignore the signs in the village that indicate it is 7 km away. It is a cool 4 km from the pier and easily walkable in regular shoes or sandals. Just follow the arrow and keep going straight. This isn't a hike... it is just a dirt road (occasionally paved). There is another little waterfall if you continue walking past the main one, I don't think the admission fee is collected on-site anymore, but you might want to bring 25,000 IDR per person in case that starts up again.

    Gorgeous, peaceful
Takes quite a motorbike ride from Labuhan Aji village to reach the falls, but it's well worth it - though truthfully I might not have quite the same opinion if we'd been besieged by a group of tourists. As we were alone, it was a magical place. These are travertine falls, so the water is milky from the dissolved calcite, glowing green as in these photos. The walk along the river will take you to a number of swimming holes. Beautiful place - with the moniker of "Lady Di's falls" as apparently she enjoyed them too.
