Grimeton--an example of the science of the artificial

As an electrical engineer, how can I not be mesmerized by the Grimeton long wave radio station. Here we see antenna theory (very complex) converted into practice. The area is beautiful beyond the radio towers and the radio station. Gentle rolling fields in a fertile landscape made for farming. To me, the most surprising and surprising site in Sweden. I've seen it from the highway but had no idea it is such a powerful experience. For scientists for sure, but also for lay people / families that enjoy a different experience. The natural beauty of Grimeton makes it a place for everybody, especially inthe summer.

Excellent trip through the history of communication
Excellent trip through the history of communication with a certain focus on the days of the telegraph. All of the area, buildings and machinery are well kept and the Radion Station is still working which makes this a great, living museum. For the younger their are a number of "adventures" that we unfortunately didn't try. But I think even us older gentlemen would find the fun!

Great if you are into electronics and swedish radiohistory
This is a great place if you want to know more about how swedish has developed and how we actually moved into the communication era. We came to late for a guided tour, and if you don't have a guided tour there is very little written information which means that you have to google a lot of things once visiting the place. For the price of 190Sek which it costs there could have been an interactive guide or at least a leaflet telling more information. But if you have the interest in electronics and radio history it's still a great place to visit.
