Great museum with a lot of variety

Excellent museum with a huge variety. From the Middle Ages to history about Gothenburg & Sweden with some fun facts to a collection of fancy gowns, an old Volvo and a kids play area. There is something for everyone. Most areas have English and Swedish descriptions. Plan to spend 1-3hrs.

    Interesting exhibits
    Perfect place to visit on a rainy day, we stopped here and spent around 90 minutes. The building itself is huge, but I didn’t get the sense the museum used all the space, as it was simple to get around, and I believe we saw all the exhibits. I don’t speak Swedish, but found most things clearly labelled in English, and came away better informed about the history of the town.

    Very informative about history of Gothenburg
    It is always interesting to learn about the history of a place you are visiting and this museum was easy to follow. Start on the top floor and work your way down. Most of the exhibits are translated into English and there is a nice shop at the end of your trip. Recommended.
