4.5Dakshineswar Kali Temple(2.946 reviews) - Huge Cosmic Energy flowing at this place Friday: 5:00 AM - 1:00 PM, 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks • Religious Sites
Mobiles and footwear not allowed, hence better to leave them in your car or any shop at the 'Dala arcade', from where you buy dala or offerings for Kali Maa. Security is now strict and people then have to queue up to enter the temple premises. Once we enter the temple our mind changes to go up in sync to the Energy, left behind by the many eminent monks that continuously stayed/visited this place. They include Ramakrishna, Bijoykrishno, Vivekananda amongst others. Initially there will be Radha Krishna temple on our left, then the main Kali temple. There are two queues to have darshan of Kali Maa. Better to take the one that sees Maa from the front. On reaching Maa face to face, need to keep eyes open and take in everything. Darshan will be short unless one is a vip. Next come down and from the 'Natmandir' (now under renovation) sit, close your eyes and speak with Kali Maa whatever you wish to. There are 12 Shiv lingas besides the Ganga. Before or after visiting them, have a wash in the cool waters of the Ganga. There is also the room where Ramkrishna Paramhansa stayed. It is a must visit as this is the room great men visited and great teachings/discussions took place. Next to visit is Sarada Maa's home. Also need to visit 'Panchabati' where SRi Ramkrishna had meditated.See more..

Travel to Mayapur and Nabadwip and be amazed with the purity of the place. You can easily spend one day in Iskon Mayapur. Iskon provides accomodation which are booked well in advance. We stayed at the gada bhavan which was the epicenter of the whole iskon complex, with bhog served during lunch and dinner both. Evening are well spent in the temple seeing the aarati. The next morning we walked from iskon to the ferry ghat. Enjoy the street shops and the 20-30minutes walk to the ferry ghat. There are both ferry and boats which ply frequently and takes you to Nabadwip. We reserved a Toto which takes you to a bunch of religious places for Rs 250-300. Spent a good 3 hours in nabadwip.See more..
While I am not sure that I am ranking the correct temple, my review relates to "Jain Shwetambar Dadaji's Temple & Garden (Dadabari)". It is just across the street from the Pareshnath Jain Temple. It is bigger and with a larger garden. The inside is open for the public and the artwork is remarkably impressive. No photography is allowed inside.See more..

The place is one of the most sacred places I have visited in India. But another reason to remember it is Babu Chatterjee. We visited during winter so my mother had a coat on her. Before entering the temple we left the shoes and coat at his stall. When we came out and boarded the toto to return in half way we realized we forgot the coat. We thought of returning back to the stall. Suddenly we saw a bike approaching calling out for us, it was Babu Chatterjee Stall number 10 he came all the way on his bike searching for us to return the coat. 4.5Lava Jamgon Kongtrul Monastery(59 reviews) - A serene place for meditation and peace - a Buddhist Monastery Religious Sites
Imagine you are contemplating your own self, and you see clouds sailing by in front of you, touching the pillars, the rose bushes of the monastery, around you. A gentle sunshine filtered through the mist of the cloud beating on the ground below. And then the temple bells ringing at a regular interval. You feel one with the divine, the greater You that resides within. Such is this place. You don't feel like talking for the sound may disturb the serenity that loving envelopes everyone around. This is surely not for tourists with small kids - I saw kids running around, breaking the marvelous stillness of the place, whose parents did nothing to train them how to behave in a place like this.See more..

4.5108 Shiv Mandir(26 reviews) - 108 Shiv Mandir - Bardhaman / Not the same as 108 Siv Mandir @ Kalna Spent 1-2 hours Religious Sites
I had earlier reviewed 108 Shiv Mandir Bardhaman, after I went there one winter morning last year, but TripAdvisor had put that up erroneously in "108 Shiv Mandir - Kalna" which is a separate attraction situated roughly 65 kms from this one !! I am hence reviewing it again This place is one of the major attractions of Bardhaman town after Bijoy Toron and Golap Bag and Bardhaman Rajbari - now part of Bardhaman University Well maintained and freshly painted, this is a complex of 108 Shiv Mandirs (Shiva Temples) in tandem with a central waterbody. There is a nice car parking in the front, which charge Rs 20/- The place , unlike most temples , are nice and clean . The only think lacking was that the Shiva temples didn't have any name individually,as in Hindu culture,Shiva has numerous names. Here no name/signage was in view. We went on a day trip to Chandannagar & Bandel by car from Kolkata last week and enjoyed the fullest. The journey through the very narrow and congested GT Road was a nightmare at places like Salkia etc in Howrah but the moment we entered Chandannagar, we felt the calm serenity of the place and saw its well maintained roads and places of historical interest. This church is one of the better maintained places in Chandannagar, situated just near to the Strand and the Ganges. Inside it is like any other old church. You will surely like the place once you are actually there. Ample parking is available around the church and street foods are also available nearby. It is of walking distance from The Strand, the iconic structure of ChandannagarSee more..
The Char Bangla Temple is a tribute to the past of the Bengali people before religion and borders divided them. Four faiths praying together to the exclusion of outside influences. One wishes the rest of India could pray like this. Well preserved terracotta tiles and so many stories inscribed on the tiles. It’s the ultimate secular monument. It also depicts Ravana allowing (God) in the form of Lord Rama to give him moksha as there was no other way a being of his spiritual achievements could die. Deviation from the heartland story of Ramayana.See more..

Gaden Tharpa Choling Monastery is about a 30 minute fairly strenuous walk uphill from Damber Chowk in the centre, on a side road just off of K.D. Pradhan Rd, which starts near Damber Chowk. K.D. Pradhan Rd is fairly steep, especially at the start. I would recommend walking up Rishi Rd from Damber Chowk for about 25 minutes, then turning left at the destined side road going uphill and backwards. Or walking up Rishi Rd 10 minutes to Tripai Rd, up the short Tripai Rd until it merges with K.D. Pradhan Rd, then walking another 15 or so mins until the monastery is nearly directly in front of you. The place looks modest as you enter through a nice gate, but when you get to the main area, the walls by the front door are really beautifully decorated, and the inside is even more beautiful. The location has a nice view of Kalimpong.See more..
