I had a few hours between business trip meetings and decided to stop for a visit. It is small (doable in a few hours, but very nice grounds and friendly and helpful staff). Everyone their had a nice smile and seemed to enjoy their jobs. The mermaid show was packed (they let the line seat about 20 minutes before the show, so get in line about 30 minutes prior to show). You cannot use flash in the theater, and my camera phone did not end up with great picture. Seating in the middle is best for viewing. Took the boat ride (about 20 minutes) and that was enjoyable as the guide explained about some eagles nests, fish and turtles we saw along the springs. Lots of peacocks strutting around. There is plenty of free parking. At $13 it is worth it considering the prices of the Orlando theme parks. See more..

    - A must see and do

We made reservations online, super easy. I highly recommend weekdays because there is less kayakers on the river. You get the kayak for two hours but the 3.8 mile trip usually takes about 90 minutes. No single use containers are allowed so bring a reusable water bottle. I also recommend a dry bag and waterproof case for your phone. There is a shuttle that will bring you back to the launch point and your car. Because we went in late May, I wasn’t expecting to see manatees but we did see one along with three owls, ibises and tons of fish! Easy trip for beginners See more..

After getting a very rude service from Weeki Wachee rental we where advised to visit Jon at the The Kayak Shack, what a man! Got us on the river within 20 minutes at a excellent rate, told us where to go for the manatees and was just a spot on man in general. Pub directly next door did excellent food right on the river and i would recommend the gator tail. Definitely worth a visit anytime of the year. See more..

We had a fantastic time here. Our guides K and Alexis were very friendly and helpful. They kept us entertained and they had great knowledge of the area, water ways and water ways. There was no pressure on to us to keep up, it was nice and relaxing. We had 2 kids ages 8 and 9, and they loved it too. Would really recommend this to people. See more..

If you have seen enough Disney, come to a unique and interesting bit of old Florida! Mays fish camp is on the mud river, adjacent to the Weeki Wachee springs river. We stopped in for rain gear after a torrential downpour! We were grateful for the fear and helpful attitude of the very professional staff attendant. She gave us good information about the preservation efforts in the area, as well s the cabins, camping abs fishing! The pouring rain was not conducive to pictures, so we hope to return so we can share more! See more..
  7. 5.0 Florida Canoe (2 reviews)
    - Great Paddling Experience!

The Weeki Wachee is a beautiful river to paddle. The water is "crystal clear" and 72 degrees F year round. Manatees are common. I am very impressed with the concessionaire. You can rent kayaks or canoes from them, or you can launch your own boat for a modest fee. If renting they will shuttle you back to the put-in as part of the package. If using your own boat you can arrange to be shuttled for an additional fee. This means you can paddle DOWN river with the current and take a bus back to the park. I have paddled UP to the park from downstream and then returned, but that is a workout for novices. Going downstream is MUCH easier. Pack a snack if you like. Once you get out of the park area you will find some nice sand beaches where you can pull out. But please observes the signs. There are some restricted and private areas. Don't trespass, and please don't litter. See more..
