    Beautiful Kites & Interesting Info
If you have ever flown a kite, take the time to go thru this unusual Museum. Very interesting room w WW 2 kites, & how they helped the war effort . Beautiful Chinese & Japanese kites, with histories of the paper making process for the kites. A short video showing an annual tug of war of kites in Japan w many teams, how the ropes are made by hand ; & how a team wins. Many different kites are sold, along w kite earrings, posters, & shirts. A good stop while at the coast !

Good bang for you 4 bucks
Thinking that this might simply be a kite store with a small area called "museum", we were pleasantly surprised. Not knowing a lot about kites or their history, this 2 story building is full of some rather amazing kites from all over the world. Did you know that kites were also extensively used in world war II? There's a room full of them. This was a pleasant surprise and an easy drive for anyone staying over in Astoria, Oregon. For only $4 (seniors), it was worth the cost of admission. They even let you build your own mini-kite to take with you.
