Awesome Rail Trail

This is a Snohomish County rail trail that eventually will run from the Centennial Trail in Arlington to Darrington. At this time, the Arlington start is at Trafton, with a farm parking lot on 115th. It is currently 24 miles of gravel, flat trail riding with much of it in sight of water, either river, creeks or swamps. The river, the highway, and the rail trail are all sandwiched into a valley, so you're never far from the other two. There are few signs and no services except a porta-potty at Trafton. However, you can find intermediate starting points simply by looking toward the river from the highway. The 24 miles makes a fulfilling day with lunch in Darrington. See the Snohomish County Parks web pages for details.
