SILVER FALLS IS ONE OF THE BEST FALLS WE'VE SEEN UP CLOSE!
Ok, so it took an hour of slow driving to get to the falls (and another hour to return back to the highway), but it was worth the time. We were there in June, and the water was flowing well. Absolutely beautiful. The trail is very well maintained and is well done. There are some rather steep areas for novice middle-age + hikers like us, but nothing really difficult. Although we did not realize until we finished the hike, it is a 1.8 mile round-trip loop. You are supposed to stay to the right on the way up and then loop back on the left on the way down. If you've got the time on your excursion to Wenatchee, this is a great stop. We've been to Yosmite and Rocky Mountains National Park, and there is no doubt in our mind, this was the best short waterfall hike of them all.

    magnificent jagged mountain views
Stayed in the Leavenworth town for one night; and then hiked the Eightmile Lake Trail. Although the trial was all cover by deep snows, but it was very well maintained. The trail winding up in steep slope, you might need to stop to take a breath from time to time. The views of the jagged mountain around the area was breath-taking. It was a pity that we could not finished the entire trail up to the top of the mountain, due to the limited time we had. But will definitely go back in a summer time to complete the whole trail to see the lakes! Definitely commend this hiking trail if you are around the area!
